This is interesting, though I find the headline itself rather amusing ;)
The cynic in me suggests something, but I won't mar their achievements by stating it.

Yeah, why doesn't that surprise me in the slightest, it's easy to call a race 'Free' when you live thousands of miles from their lives :(

Sad really. Especially since all the reasonable doubt one can ever have goes away when hearing it from these guys.

Hmm... I remember hearing from more than one source that Uday used to torture the Iraqi footie tream when they ****ed up. Perhaps they'd like to re-trade the American soldiers for Saddam?

Someone who's been following the Soccer - What're the chances of an Iraq vs. US match?

" The team said they were glad Iraq's former Olympic committee head Uday Hussein - Saddam Hussein's notorious son killed by US forces after the invasion - was no longer in charge.
But coach Adnan Hamad said he was concerned with what the Bush administration was doing in Iraq.
"My problems are not with the American people. They are with what America has done in Iraq: destroy everything," he said.
"The American army has killed so many people in Iraq. What is freedom when I go to the stadium and there are shootings on the road?"
NB: I believe Iraq can't meet the US in the footie. They play Paraguay and IIRC the other semi is Argentina vs Italy.
