uh, he's this guy from the Xmen universe. This was a long time ago, though I remember I saw it in a comic, thought it sounded kind of cool and here we are today.

Yeah, nerd.

I have 'Aldo' and the number '14' on the back of many of my football shirts.  That pretty much sums it up.

Well. My nick came from alot of places. Probably mainly the Lucasarts game Dark Forces. Then when I got my hotmail account I couldn't write Dark Force so I added the 4 to substitute For in Force. Dark_4ce. But then later the 4 looks like a l337 version of A, so some people started knowing me as Dark_Ace. Which was cool also. So now its pritty much both. :D

The name of the Goddess of Undead in an AD&D campaign I GM'd for. One day I needed a yahoo handle and the first few tries resulted in complaints that the name had already been taken.

So I figured that no one would have Karajorma since I'd invented it and the name just stuck.

Means either looking at things from a different perspective, or the situation directly after a battle/confrontation, e.g. 'See you on the Flipside'.

Edit : Oh, and if I remember right, Rictor was Cyclop's brother, and could create miniature Earthquakes, I think he also died once ;)

no, no, thats Havok.

to my eternal shame, I later found out that he's gay - I mean literally, have-sex-with-a-man, gay.

Hundreds of comic-book characters, and I end up with one of the handful of homos. Damn, I sure know how to pick em, eh? ;) ;)

I have my nick ever since I got actively into computer gaming. I was around er..... four years old back then :p

So yeah, if you literally grow up with a nickname, it simply sticks to you :D

And finally, it's a great nick because it can be shortened better than any other nick you might come up with. If you don't feel like typing Lightspeed you can simply write Lighty, and if this still isn't enough for you you can write lsd which is a short form of LightSpeeD as well.

And if you're ultimately lazy, you can shorten my nick to ONE LETTER.

c. :D

http://www.runningdeerslonghouse.com/webdoc238.htm:

"The forest creatures pause in awe as the mighty Beaver passes.
They stare from rock and fallen log, from tree top and from grasses.
The bear, the fox, and buffalo, and all their feathered neighbors,
Bend a knee and bow a head,
And somewhere grateful prayers are said,
For every creature hoped to see the Beaver as it passes."

I know what you're thinking... :D

But honestly, it was more about this: http://homepage.mac.com/cparada/GML/DIOSCURI.html

Janos Valmunen is maybe the worst singer in Finnish pop-music history.
A) He can't sing
B) He can't write lyrics without using really bad cliches
C) He can't play very well
D) He has horrible voice
E) His horrible lyrics are about schoolyard love and stuff
F) He's dead, propably killed himself.

You tell me where the fish part came from - though I don't mind it at all, it's actually fun.

Though truth be told, I though this one up a kid, when such words like laser sounded cool - I try to find out ever since what it actually means.

It could be FLuor-Laser, or 15nm-laser since F stands for 15 in hexa.

Post by: Ransom on August 28, 2004, 11:40:15 pm
Was playing the Hostile Waters demo some years ago (when it was new) and liked the name Ransom of one of the characters. So I started to use that. Then one day I was playing Escape Velocity Nova and wanted a last name to go with it, to make it look like the name of a person rather than a demand for money. I liked the word 'arcane' so I thought up Arceihn on the spot because it's just a really weird spelling of it. Then it kinda stuck and wouldn't let go. An added bonus is it's prone to being mispelled, such as 'Random Arceihn', and very few people seem to be able to get the Arceihn right (the h always seems to get put in the wrong place).
