Title: Problem with Fraps in FS 2
Post by: SFN-Darkwarrior on September 01, 2004, 04:44:41 pm
Well, it's not exaclty FS2 Modding, but what I want to create has to do with it :D

Since a few days I'm working on my trailer for my new Addon for Freespace 2. I've already ripped some cutscenes from FS1 with Fraps, no problem!

But those FS2 cutscenes can't be anymore ripped by fraps! I dunno why and I need some sequenzes from FS2 to work with them in my video-editing proggi!

Has anyone an idea???

Check out Karajorma's FAQ - there's a section in there about getting the movies out. You'll need a special program which he links to, and a lot of spare HD space.

I didn't know FRAPS could be used to rip cutscenes period.

The movies page can be found at http://homepage.ntlworld.com/karajorma/freespace/movies.html

When I do the big update to the FAQ I'll add it to the side menu.

The FS2 intro was so big that it wouldn't work on a FAT32 partition!

To be honest I think the biggest limiting factor is the MVE2AVI. I tried converting the FS2 movies a couple of weeks ago but the uncompressed avi aren't much higher in quality than the ones already out there.

Unless you've got a different version. I'm using MVE2AVI 2.4h
