OK, maybe I do when I think how much email I have at work. It was near 600 MB when I last checked, might be a lot more now. But the company covers that so I don't need GMail. :p

Post by: Stealth on September 02, 2004, 05:07:20 pm: when you sign up they give you a certain amount of invitations, which you can use to invite other people, etc. the original signing up was only available for a short period of time.

i wouldn't mind a Gmail account :) if anyone has any extra invites left

Gmail is google's email service, like hotmail. Its new, and is a significant step forward, with 1gb of storage space and a search function for emails, as well as some other improvements.

right now, its invite only, but those who already have an account (who have themselves been invited by others) can sign up their friends. Its sort of a self-propagating beta test.

people thought it was a hoax when it first came out. 1 GB storage with 10 MB attachment limit, WOW... i didn't buy it at first, i was one of the many (most) who thought it was some early april fools joke. but there's still a lot of people very wary of it.

Actually, I haven't even used my Gmail yet, and I've been given 6 invites. Twice.

So It may be completely random. (Maybe I should play lotto? :p)

no, it doesn't seem to have anything with anything rational such as usage.
