[link at some really weird page]

[no quotes of interesting stuff]

[ or some other stupid smiley.]

I ****in' detest this. Please, FFS, when you find out something interesting,
COPY AND PASTE THE INTERESTING PARTS OF THE ARTICLE AND LINK TO IT, DO NOT JUST LINK.[/i]

Do as you like. I was just trying to point out the really annoying feature round here - dunno if that counts as spamming to you.

yeah, and?

i mean, so what if people don't quote a piece of an article, maybe you have to read the whole thing in order to make sense of it all..

or maybe you're just too lazy to read an article...:doubt:

just simmer down a little..

Every time I read article/news I read whole thing

Yeah, I know that usually the articles are short. However, if addressing only one part of 3-page article, I certainly quote the part and link to the rest of article. Wading through pages of unneeded information - which is often even uninteresting - can be tiresome.

Janos, could you say in which thread where someone here posted a 3-page article and did not quote the part that interested the discussion, if the whole article is of no interest?

Umm, I admit that was maybe bit too harsh.

Maybe because if we just post the section of the article that says what we want to say, we aren't encouraging people to find things out for themselves. I could easily take a news article and post part of it that makes one side of the argument look worse than the other. Some people will just read the quote and jump to a conclusion from it, rather than reading the whole article and forming their own opinions.

With comedy ones, it's often funnier to let people read the build up rather than just directly posting the punchline ;)
