Has anyone else noticed thant in Dunkerque (I think), when you are evacuating 3rd fleet HQ command always says the wing of Bombers has 2 more than it actually does? Was this done on purpose?
-
Huh?
-
he's saying command is telling you there is a certain # of bombers but there is actually 2 more around that command doesn't mention
-
meerly a simple mistake...
also, that commands orders come through 3rd fleet hq at one point...
-
I always thought that 3rd fleet headquarters was the source of command for the 3rd fleet...

Its the other way round:
command is telling you there are X Bombers but there are actually X-2 bombers

Somewhat offtopic, but is it my imagination, or does command seem more stupid in FS2 than it does in FS1?

It isn't your imagination. Command is stupid.
Heck, they left the friggin' Knossos open even after they destroyed the Ravana. They even left it open after barely stopping the first Sathanas.
Command is a bunch of stupid, political fools.

uh... no, they destroyed it BEFORE they destroyed the colossus, and it wouldn't have mattered anyway, since the node stabilized...

1.) I was talking about the very first juggernaut. They had plenty of time to close the Knossos. After the colossus took it down, they should have noted that they barely stopped it, and they should have closed the Knossos.
2.) True, the node had stabilized. But the GTVA didn't know that. The point is, regardless, they should have destroyed the Knossos.
-
but the knossos was destroyed before the Sathanas (any of them) reached GTVA space...
-
Hippo's right. The knossos was destroyed before the first sath entered Gamma Draconis (both events happen in the same mission actually).
Blitzerland does raise an interesting point that maybe command should have meason bombed the the now stable node into the nebula to stop the shivans coming through it if they had any more sath.
However
1. Command felt that the fact they beat the sath meant that the GTVA had improved to a point where they were a match for the Shivans
2. They really wanted to catch Bosch/ETAK and he was already in the nebula
Basically, Command were stupid :D However with whole Bosch thing they may have been privy to information we never got. Remember that they did pull the blockade in Deneb for some reason.

Is Command stupid or only mental manipulated? ? ? ? Mind Games ;7

Well, if i remember right, command in FS1 isn´t too bright either! Remember the mission where you scan those freighters, a Demon and then the Lucifer?
Command: "Alpha 1, see if you can get inside the Lucifer´s fighterbay."
.:bump:.
Duh!! :p :D

I would have thought that after the large number of ships that first Ravana took down before it was destroyed would have made them think that they didn't have as much firepower as they once thought. But it turns out exactly the opposite happened. Maybe after getting their asses handed to them (again), they would have figured out that they need to be more careful next time.

Command in general has the intelligence of your average 3rd grader, and less knowledge of tactics. 'Course I can't give the Colossus' captain (Command: Colossus, we're pulling you out of there. Engage your subspace drive." Colossus: "Negative command, we'll continue to hold the line"... boom), or for that matter any of your wingmen (I thought I was supposed to try to fly into my wingman, not behind him), any better marks.

Hey! Don't insult third graders. ;)

I keep saying this. The Colossus was disabled. It couldn't have gotten out if it wanted to. The captain just wanted to sound like a hero rather than someone trapped and about to die. :)

They shouldnt have installed "Windows for Colossi" (TM) on the Colossus.
-
yeah, but they had wireless internet, and they needed to be next to a nav bouy in order to get online and download service pack 2.
