Here is one of our newest work, the confederation longbow-bomber.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The F/A-76A Longbow is Confed's replacement for the venerable broadsword bomber. The Longbow bomber has a single job, to deliver torpedoes to enemy capital ships, and it does this extremely well. On the downside, its lack of maneuverability and acceleration attract enemy fighters like hornets. On the upside, the Longbow's formidable set of defensive missile weaponry, armor protection, and gun turret will make any hostile fighter pay the price for entertainment.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Credits go to Lynx for creating and texturing this pretty ship.

Can't wait to fly one of these :) slow but like the read out says lots of weapons :D
-
Yah and you will need some firepower ^_^
-
Don't forget the rear gunner. That's how I got most of my kills in WC3 (while using Longbow off course).
-
Very nice  ,awesome texture work, maybe the cockpit part could use a little more detail, like aldo suggested in the Thunderbolt thread.
-
Awesome, I like. You're putting a real AI turret on the back, right?
-
Yep, all fighters that are supposed to have a rear turret are getting one, this makes dogfighting even more a challenge. :)
-
Sweet  :)
-
Looks good.
Will the ships have spec maps too?

eh, I think it needs more pollies, greeble it and maybe give some sharp rounding (not smoothng, I mean round, like mechanicaly circular) o the wing thingies
-
What do you mean, greebling? Actually, I tried to give the model more detail in places, but TS was giving me no end of trouble so I had them removed and/or agged them on the textures(like the tech greebke stuff on the wings). And the smoothing on the wings is very subtle in the original desing by ORIGIN, though the had rounded edges, they were so subtle they were only visible from closeup even on the high res CGI model for the cutscenes.
Trust me it got already converted and I saw it ingame it looks just lovely.

Here are some ingame screenies, now shinemapped. I glowmapped the cockpit to make it look like it is illuminated from the inside. Like that effect?

looks good, I especaly like the last shot.
still think those mechanical bits should be recessed.

Yeahm as said I too would've liked those tech gratings to be in a modelled are, but Truespace pissed on me with that one no matter what I tried, so I gave up and just made a texture for that. Though I think the textures on that model look as they are intended; they are supposed to look rugged and real(in a way as if I took photographs of a "real" Longbow and then used them as textures) compared to the more artificial and "artsy" style that most other space sims use.
-
I'll do it for you if you pass me the model.
-
Thanks for the offer, but it's already lodded and all that. The model though a bit low detailed is good enough for the demo. I may remake it later for the main campaign, tho.

The cockpit glow is awesome.
