I swear, I'll finish some of this stuff one day ;)
This thing is fairly self explanitory I hope, seeing as it looks like a porcupine from hell. The front should be a dead giveaway as to what race it's for. Textures are in progress, but they are still a mess and only serve to make it harder to see what's going on. It looks even better in 3d.

Class?

Not a destroyer, but either a cruiser or corvette. It's got some Rakshasa elements in the front, but may wind up too short if I scale it to decent proportions for a cruiser. Depends on how I arm it more than anything else I guess.
-
It's too short and stumpy to be a Capship IMO. Have a look at the shivan fleet. They don't have a single canon ship in that sort of configuration. It'd maybe work as a sort of uberfighter or bomber, or possibly as a nightmare cap, but not a shivan cap.
The uberfighter might be the most interesting of all actually. A wing of these show up, with hitpoints and shield values greater than that of a seraphim, but with the speed and manoeuvrability of a Manticore. The ultimate Shivan vessel. You'd balance it through scarcity and storyline rather than making balance intrinsinc to the mod itself
-
Not as a Nightmare cap, though. Engine structure is wrong for one thing. Other structural differences & whatnot. Namely that NM ships are long, 'bladed' ships, or flat & wide. Plus the Nightmare design was moving towards a 'flowing' organic ship, rather than a spiky one (something akin to an evil jellyfish crossed with a xenomorph).
(you'll have to take my word on this.... :D)
Those spines might make it hard to turret, but IMO it's quite an interesting design.

If you look at the front as if it's the back, it looks like a shivan-vasudan hybrid strike bomber.
If you look at the back as if it's the front, it looks like a vasudan-shivan hybrid remote beam cannon.
It should be called the SVPABRBC (Shivan Vasudan Parliamentary Alliance Bomber Remote Beam Cannon) Schizophrenomenal! ;7
But seriously... the engine section looks too much like a Mjolnir for my taste. What about making it more asymmetrical, and having five smaller engines instead of the six?
-
This is not shivan.
-
A Shivan Erinyes.
Imposing.
-
Erinyes?! :wtf:
-
The forward arcs are a wee bit reminiscent of the rear sweep of the Erinyes pods. Just a wee bit, though.
-
No, not that.
I thought the spiky part was the front, and each spike was a primary...

I can vouch for that. :D

You can?
*raises eyebrow*

I'm with Aspa. The first thing I thought of was a Shivan RBC.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was, now that I think about it... I just have no point of reference so I can't tell which end is the front.
Tho to be honest I already have a Shivan RBC -- it's a Rahu derivative -- but this looks much more original. :)
Whatever the hell it is, it looks quite menacing :nervous:
-
Te spikes point towards the frontl. The flat (central) angled front is similar to several other shivan ships.
-
Frigate/pocket destroyer with ungodly number of anti-fighter beams on those spikes?
-
my first thought was bomber...:doubt:
-
Looks like the Sekhmet from the back.
-
One thing you could try is making it less symmetrical; One of the hallmarks of Shivan design it isn't all that big on symmetry. :)
-
That's not exactly true; only the Dragon, Nephilm, and Ravana are asymmetrical along their centerline. The trouble here is that this ship has radial symmetry, which can look a bit odd. Like I said, it looks better in 3d when those spikes can be differentiated from one another.

looks like soomethin' from DragonBall!
