This has been bugging me for a few years now. I read a Star Trek TOS novel a while back that had this one scene that I thought was genius - absolutely hilarious. But I've been unable to find what book it was in.
The scene was something like this: The Enterprise is in orbit around a planet, and there's a Klingon ship nearby as well. Kirk's tired of dealing with the abusive Klingons, even verbally. So he has Uhura field his calls, and she goes into this hilarious 20th century-esque "boss's secretary" role every time the Klingons hail them. "Enterprise here, Uhura speaking." "Give me Kirk!" "I'm sorry sir, but you're gonna have to learn some manners before you can speak to him." {close channel} This goes on for a page and a half, until eventually the Klingon hails the Enterprise: "May....I.....pleeeasse.... speak.... to... Captain... Kirk...?"
Anyway, you get the idea - anyone *looks in Tiara's direction* have a clue as to which book this was in?

Not Doctor's Orders, sorry. I know that one virtually by heart. ;) Good book, and semi-similar situation, but not the one.

Was it 'How much for just the Planet?'

Nope, but I had forgotten how weird that novel is. :p
