http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~plankerj/fs2movies/
All the movies are in Avi format.
Special thanks to Karajoma for sending me these movies so I could do this.
Notice: I will keept these up as long as possible. However, if the network nazi's at my university harrass me about them and order me to take them down, I will have to comply. Until that happens, they will remain there.
EDIT: Bosch monologue 3 is up.
EDIT: Bosch monologue 4 is up.

I've been meaning to download these, the FTP severs are slow sometimes. Took me around 8 minutes to download the intro. :D
*Quickly grabs them before they're gone*
-
Finally! Now I can watch them again!!
*Watches Sathanas blow the living crap out of Capella
Waited tooooooo long to see that :D
-
*whacks his computer repeatedly as it claims he doesn't have the proper codecs*
-
These should be safely mirrored on my upcoming FTP site soon if all goes according to plan.
-
This is what makes school cool.
-
*downloads all cutscenes, copies them to backup drives, transfers some to Bro's CPU, uploads rest to personel archive site.
The cutscenes, thanks to my immense and ever growing paranoia, and safe forever. :D
-
Btw, how long is it taking you guys to download them?
-
'bout a minute thirty seconds each, with God knows how much else going on in the background. And that's doing them all at one time.
-
Ooooh, awesomeness. Nice effort getting these all online. :)
-
Nice to see these up. Get hold of me this evening and we can sort out the last two monologues and also if you have space the FS1 intro and hallfight.
-
Hallfight? *watches thread like a hawk*
-
Sorry Kara, I didn't see your post until just now. We'll try tomorrow.
Do you think this thread should be stickied? Since speed limitations shouldn't be much of an issue with me. I should have enough space for hallfight. I just remembered that I had the FS1 intro, it is now available..

The biggest file, Intro, took me five minutes. Not bad for DSL.
Thanks for hosting those, kosh! Now, where can I get Fs1 cutscenes?
-
Ooooh... FS1 intro and hallfight... :D
As for speed, very fast, had around 60-80 kb/s, it took around 8 mins to grab the intro.
-
I have all the Silent Threat movies, but nowhere to host them. If anyone can help me host the dang things, PM me.

One of the FTP servers as far as I know.
-
I've converted all the ones I was missing. If you've got the space Kosh I've got them all now.
-
Awsome.
They're getting a bit old though... someone should remake the visual side of things, with the newer high poly ships and Lightspeeds weapons. - that would look awosome :D
-
Nah, wait for some mods that feature cutscenes. :)
BTW that's the first time I heard the original voices. Now I think the german version is really good translated. I'd even say the speakers are better. But perhaps that's beacause I heard the german version first. But I prefer the english comm voices.
-
Remember that they got professional Hollywood actors to do the English versions. :)
That's not saying that they didn't get good well known German actors to do the voices for the German version but did they get anyone as well known as Robert Loggia?
-
I've watched ID4 a few times after playing through FS2, and I keep expecting everyone to walk up to his character and say, "Admiral, the Shivan juggernaut is about to jump to Capella." :p A few lines he has in that movie seem like they could fit in FS2, so that makes it even more strange :).
-

I wonder if anyone has ever though of sampling his lines from other movies for use in an FS2 campaign? :D I'm sure there are a fair few that could be useful :D
-
Or Ronny Cox (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001074/) from Stargate........

Oh I didn't know that...
-
Yeah. I figured having heard only the german translations you won't have heard the cool voice acting in FS2.

I forgot to respond to this until now. After the two Bosch monologues and hallfight I don't think I will have much space left over. I only have 300 MB.
-
Anybody interested to tell me what do I need to watch these cutscenes? I've played them in Windows Media Player, RealOne and DivX. I hear the sound but I can't see picture.

I almost died of happiness when I realized where I recognized that voice from...it made ID4 a much more enjoyable movie. :D
Primus: Maybe you need to update your DivX codecs? That could be it...
-
You need at least version 5 or better in order to play the video.
-
And when the ancients vids are up you'll need the XVid Codec to play them.
-
Excellent. I updated the codecs and now the movies work.
Thank you all :D
-
I downloaded all AVIs! I owe you a load of beer!
-
I'm glad you guys are enjoying them.

Hmm. Who encoded the Ancients? You can encode xvid files so that they can be played back using Divx5.x
-
Karajoma did that.
-
Well, depending on which settings he used, it may still be possible to simply change the fourCC to dx50

Don't ask me. I just press buttons monkey fashion in virtualdub and then stare at the cutscene to see what the quality is like. If it looks okay I put it into my FS2 folder :D
