Or do the Valkyrie and Athena look like birds?
Namely, that the Valk looks like a seagull or pigeon, and the Athena like a diving bird of prey. and also the Ulyssses like a bat.... which makes me wonder if this was an initial design scheme.
-
That's right. The GTVA uses the nature as source for ship design.
Millions of years of evolution in one ship.
The Hecate for example is an elephant.
The Vasudans stick to fish design ships, of course.
-
I mean V design
-
From time to time nobody can laugh about my jokes... these are dark days for me. :sigh:
I'm not sure about the other ships, but V probably a had a bat in mind while modling the Ulysses. It's even called "bat" in the description.
-
And the Herc 2 is a flamingo....
-
The Herc 2 looks like a pidgeon to me...

:ha: I thought it was funny. :D

Ok, now I'm happy. (Yeah, I'm a kinda simple guy :) )
-
The Ulysses looks more like a diving bird of prey to me...(forward-swept wings!)
And the original Herc? Manatee. Even the right color.

Bat's got that sort of wings, though. Plus also the neck is short, i.e. like a bats is sunk in.... the Athena has that kind of wing, too.
-
The colossus looks like..... crap. :D
-
I'm the only person on this forum who likes the Colossus :p
-
It's a supersoaker.
I can understand how V tried to put in the Vasudan elements.... i.e. the longer neck (Hatshepsut / Sobek), vomit yellow colour scheme & kind of blocky-with-round edges body, in particular.
They tried to make a blocky Vasudan design, I think, whereas most people would make a smoother Terran design.

Yeah, well, i'm one of those people who likes the Hades.
And what does it remind me of...hmm...hmm....MYSELF!!
The entire ship has about...22 turrets, right? 20 of those are worthless, weak, no-good pulse lasers. 2 are beam cannons, 1 of which is in on the top of the ship in a totally useless position.
Yet, somehow, I love that ship. Luckily, I found someone to fullfil my dream of giving the Hades bigger teeth...

I like the Colossus, it's not bad.
The Erinyes is a clothes-pin on the other hand

Bingo!
-
Erinyes is cool from the front, it looks heavy as feck.
-
I'd pitt the GTD Saturn against the Hades any day!

Lies. I love the Colossus. Hades too.
-
The gothic architecture in the Hades is appealing but the ship itself is kinda boring. Or should I say the missions are kind of boring. Even in the A******** campaign, where the Hades makes another appearance, it seems to be almost the same mission.
"Quick, disable the hades!"
"Got it done, where's the support???"
Then I find myself all alone in an Ursa with the Hades and 4 Hercs + 4 Lokis on my tail and evetually I get blasted.
What was the original hades mission? Hades, quick launch some lokis! Launch more, a few more, yes, keep them coming, oh launch more please. Etcetera

Hades just makes me feel....zzzzzzz
-
Hades MK2, man. Hades MK2.
66 turrets, including 2 forward BGreens, over a dozen AAA beams, some flak, and quite a multitude of pulse turrets. Fulgrymm did a good job on it methinks :)
I'll release it fairly soon. (I know I've said that twice already, but I am a slacker by nature, so :P)
-
zzzzzzzzzzz.................
-
ehh Hades here, Hades there ..Hades evrywhere:p
Colossus... looks like one big gun:doubt:
Erinyes...who cut it nose  :p

Presumably not the GTD Saturn I made but never completed, then.
