If it is a mod, so, is it for StarShatter ??

TTIWWP

An old an purportedly "awful" model according to Damocles

A newer WIP for his Dilgar War mod

Both were lifted from his temporary site at http://members.shaw.ca/holdtheline/

Meh, his starfury still looks better than what I am trying to make for TBP.

Any chance that we'll be able to borrow some models? :D

The music/compass addon is up at the site

as for that fury, I made it like 3 years ago, its something insane like 4.5k polys.

ss works a lot different then freespace, the battles move a hell of a lot faster so there is nearly no chance you will have 2 fighters close enough to load the lod0 models, this enables you to make a very high detailed lod0 model

still, if I ever get around to it id love to cut it down by like 2500 or so.

My starfury mesh is fine, but the mappin sux. I'm using canon material which looks crappy without a great lighting system.

Tell me about mapping... as soon as you think you have the big boys who make the games beat... something like jump to lightspeed comes out and you have to up it AGAIN.... eventually it gets to the point where you just cant spend that amount of time...

I rarly use cannon anything, I prefer to make all the textures even the base from scratch, takes a LOT more work but when you are done its something unique, kind of like the hyperion maps.
I dunno if the maps would fit your model at all but I will post a shrunk version here for you to see.

I unwrap basically every face on models when I texture, so the maps generally look a bit wierd.

I've said this before, but your textures are so much better than the b5 originals. I really love them

Heheh thanks

I've never been one for copying textures point by point and trying to make something 100% cannon.. ive always thought you should improve/change and so on, its how stuff gets better

Been spending time on some dilgar ships for the next mod, for starshatter or freespace 2, depends on how hard freespace2 is and what kind of support I can get for it.
