Is there any "new" news on BWO that happened since HLP went down? I cant wait to play this thing....
-
Nothing happened when it went down actually.
-
Beta testing was dead while the forums were down. We're back on track now.
-
Is beta-testing all you have to do?

That and finish a few more missions.
Still, the beta testing is quite extensive. Our beta testers are doing a fantastic job as well...at the very least, BWO will have the largest collection of very finely polished missions.
We may not be big on MOD's...but we should be a good dose of fun mission side.

Having just played and finished the demo, complete with voiceacting, I eagerly await the release of this project...
...oh, did I mention you guys rock?
-
u guys ever find anyone to do the voice acting?
-
I could do some voice acting if you need it.
-
me too i guess but i wouldn't want to ruin the storyline for myself :(
-
Don't think voice actors themselves are hard to find actually.
Just match them with the characters.
Thing is - those that have most time on their hands will probably be assigned to continuous characters, such as Mallory, etc.
-
Whatever you do, include Lightspeed's work. As you are not big on mods, and thus use stock FS2, Lightspeed's work would fit BWO like a glove.
I have become so used to the new lights, maps, weaps, etc, that to actually go back to the prior situation would be a deffinite pain.
However big the installer might become, we need those tex's and lights and hi polys. BAD!
-
I personally dont really care how big the installer is. The more the merrier! Poor people with 56k....
-
I've been waiting so long. I never even tried the demo cause I don't want the experience to be ruined (keep the surprise)...
I can wait a little longer (ok I'm lying)... :shaking:
-
Will the mod be released within the next couple of weeks?

Please do...its a prequel to the actual campaign. So you have alot to gain and nothing to loose by playing it. I'm actually quite proud of the demo...although most of it was Kellan in terms of actual missions.
Yeah we're moving slowly right now. For the past 4 weeks I've been doing nothing but sleeping, going to class, and writing essays. So I'm fairly non-existant.
To be honest, my interest in creating something for FS2 is dropping to new levels. BWO still has to get done and hopefully I can help that process along. Right now it lies in the hands of our capable beta testers (especially BD) who have been doing a fantastic job until the servers went all screwy. We're slowly going through everything. Ace has been taking the beta testers and producing fixed missions on a very constant basis.
As of right now, we're on E1M10. There's 10 more missions in this episode and another 20 in the other two episodes. Lots of missions to test. There is still one mission, one that I'm responsible for, that is not yet complete. Aside from that, we're done. But work continues...
...and so does RL.

Dang, because I go home from my university for winter vacation in 2 weeks for about a month. I have 2 weeks to DL as much warez as possible on my university connection. :D
-
i predict a release by christmas...
plz tell me i'm right :D
-
No. Beta testing is progressing very slowly. Hopefully, feedback will be coming faster in the next few weeks so we'll be able to finish everything.
-
PM an admin and they may change it for you.
Albiet you might as well just re-register under the alternate nickname.
-
High Max, if we had time to judge everyone's names, we would have time to do more modding, FREDing, etc.
-
*watches BWO trailer*
*notices release date says 2001*
:D
-
Yeah that's before Kellan and I overhauled the storyline...in 2001.
Yeah I'm sorry :D
Its almost 2005 :D
Time to get this bloody thing out the door. Right now we're beta testing. Then were done.
-
testing is always what takes up 90% of the time
