comeing into school this morning my atention was grabbed by a police car on the other side of the highway. it was in the front of a FREAKING HUGE military convoy, weird, even with the base I rarely see so much as a single hummer, and here we have easily 30 big semi trucks covered and painted in camo.
for those who don't remember, Scott is the logistical comand center of the US military, I think something is up.
-
are you sure it wasn't a parade?
-
What did you think was going to happen if Bush got back in?
-
dun dun dun
this sounds wicked ominous.
Get ready for the American Civil War 2.0??
;) ;)
-
I love the militarys trucks they haul serious ass.

North Korea: Here we Come!

"are you sure it wasn't a parade?"
down a highway?
...
holy ****, I was almost to my car, now I'm hearing air raid sirens from the base!
crap, I can't post atachments here, otherwise I'd post a map
-
ok...uhm, ****.
I'll indulge my paranoid self for now and say that this can't bode well.
-
O_o
I wonder what's up. The timing can't be coincidental XD
-
ok I'm going to work, if we get nuked some time between now and then I'll be in Mascoutah IL untill probly 8:00 pm quite close to the base (I can see the air control towers from the front door)
after that I'll be in the "slow and painfull death by radiation" zone.
-
well it very well could be a coincidence and I am sure they have montly testing of the air raid siren.
-
It's a military post so it was probably a drill. I get Blackhawk flyovers all the time and I live 30 miles from Redstone Arsenal.
-
It's been an honor and a privilege, gentlemen.....
....
We aren't dead yet, right?
.....
ok.
......
It might have been a drill, or someone got bored, or something.
-
Mmmh that means Bush stays in power another 4 years dammit!!!....

Last year I was sitting in politics at college and a SCUD-type thing went down the main road...
-
I think theyre gonna smash Fallujah sometime soon.
-
Wow...this sounds heartening. Air raid sirens, bases on alert...I haven't seen a bloody thing in the media yet
-
I work for DoD nothing is happening, prolly just an excercise, we have those al the time down here....(Goodfellow AFB)
-
someone told me that the sirens are tested every first tuesday of a month, but they probly delayed it as to not alarm people.
flyovers are constant, one thing you getvery used to around here is seeing fighter jets in the sky, hell we see AWACs every now and then, and you can very clearly see C-17s landing every hour from the school parking lot.
the convoy on the other hand was something, aparently some unit, or something, in scott is getting shipped out.

My grandparents live in Shreveport/Bossier and they say they hear B52s take off in groups of 5 almost hourly. They also said the Civil Defense still sound the siren from the old days every once in a while. Back when the USSR existed, that would have been one of the first places to get nuked (because its the primary b52 base for the US) so sirens were necessary.

awww, Bob, thats a let down. You ruined the ending to what was until now a perfectly good and suspensful story.
I was thinking maybe Bush had decided a little extra military muscle wouldn't hurt, just to let the population know who's in charge. You know, soldiers on the streets, rounding up terrorist sympathisers, lefitists and intellectuals. I was just about to start packing and join the resistance.
Thanks a lot, now thats all gone.

I'm sorry, if you want you can still come down here buy a gun and start stalking targets of political significance
