Title: FS2 mod for HL2?

Some of you may remember that I tried to make a few FS-based Half Life maps back in the day, specifically the Fenris bridge and the Aquitaine flightdeck.

If I were to attempt to make a complete Fenris in HL2 would I have anyone's support?

I'm planning to learn the SDK when it comes out.

I tried their Imagesoft demo but they took out too much features which makes it way to much of a pain to learn.

I doubt there'd be a single person who'd say "What? FS in HL2? You retard!" so I suspect support will not be hard to find. Assistance now, that might be a bit more of a challenge.

However, if you do go ahead with it, Stunaep might have something you'd be interested in seeing - dunno if he'd be willing to show you though is the only thing.

If you consider making it using the Unreal engine instead, i would help out. I used to make maps for UT, and i have lots of experience with UnrealEd.
Besides, UT2004 is already here, whiler HL2 is still a mirage...

UT2K4 is the worst enginge for mods. Ugh. Can't imagine FS working well with it at all.

I'd do testing and stuff once I can get my grubby hands on HL2. I need a key for CS2 anyway.

Anything else, no. I could host a site if it's smaller then 10 meg, though. Hotlinking would be allowed.

Once HL2 is released I'll probably learn mapping (have some experience with UnrealEd and Radiant), although I'm more interested in something like a full singleplayer mod. What would the Fenris actually be used for?

hmm....I could see an invasion mod working quite well for UT2004 :)

Build teh ship maps and let the enemies come on in!

I was thinking along the lines of Natural Selection. MP mod with a variety of maps, each onboard a certain Terran, Vasudan, or Shivan ship.

Covert Recon Bot is a damn clever idea.

Any FS2 fps would have to implement squad tactics. Of all the games i have played, ghost recon is the only one that used the squad idea well.
