I know you all have a dozen projects for the SCP... However, I have a few little ideas for you to think about... One is it possible to create the lightning effect as a beam effect for big ships or even small ships... Just using the same respects as beam, but making it lightning? I have not seen any effects that come close to what I am talking about... It would be nice for the Vorlons for TBP....
Next... Could it be possible to make a nebula field in the same way as an asteroid field... I know they are completely different in respects of effects, but this would be good for extreme battles... My inspiration for this was Star Trek II.... It would be neet to have for it could also be used an as atmosphere as well if used right.... Thoughts on this? Thanx in advance!
Edit: I know the subject has been brought up a couple of times, but is ther gonna be any chances for multi-ducking? This would be good for all sorts of stuff! Again, thanx in advance!

Well, those are other dead horses - not so long age (the crash +1-2 weeks) Bobb experimented volumetric fog as a nebula render method, so someone may perform necromancy on the later steed.
As for the frst one, there were tons of things done to beams, so I will let an experienced modder bring light to that issue.,

Cool... Thx for the update... I have asked about this a few times with TBP crew, and so far they are tring to generate the effects... However, I was hoping for the beam effect that is simular to the Imperium Galatica 2 Destructor beam! That was cool looking... Figure I would ask in the main SCP forums, and wait and see what I got... Thanx again!

There is a civilian ship Lightning beam (forgot who pimped that, trashman or Stratcom maybe?)
There are also lightning beams (I can't remember ) for shivan swarm? Or was it Inferno l8tr on???

actually with clever artistry and beam translation it should be possible to make a lignting effect. i do it by using a fighter beam with alot of shots and a realisticlly rendered lightning strike bitmap complements of kai power tools :D
a regional nebula could in theory be done by making new astroids with alot of glowpoints. you could make a cloudlike model with a transparant texture (two submodrels actuially one with transparant textures and one with non transparant textues with flipped normals). use the nebula pofs in the glowpoints and use them librally. set the astroids as non solid in the tables and make them big enough to intersct with eachother. now the game will only render the outer layers in theory (i think) thanks to the nontransparant inner texture. this has 2 problems, one it will look like ****, and it will chew up yur framerate.

Thanx for the lightning effect update... I haev a dozen lightning stirke pix I have been fiddling with myself to get the effect I am looking for... However, as for the nebula thought using the asteroid portion of FS2... If we cheat ourselves with the effort of doing it right we cheat everyone (besides I tried that, and it not only looked like ****, but I was ashamed to ever claim such worx!!! lol)
