Happy 229th Birthday to the United States Marine Corps. That's right, our premier regular fighting force predates the official formation of the country.

Err... okay...
Are you in the Marines or sommat that we don't know of?
-
Aren't you a day late? Or better yet, 4 months late?
-
Yeah, I am a day late. But HLP was unreliable at best yesterday.
-
229 years? Seems like an odd number to celebrate....
Our Marines were 340 last month....
-
[color=66ff00]Our marines were aqua last month, they're ultra this month.

Right on! Some of my best memories are of my time in the USMC! :D
-
My Marines have Jetpacks and shout a lot in Gothic, and they wear groovy power armour.
1000 Years to the Emperor! Even though he's dead ;)

Heretic! The Emporer lives and watches over all from the Golden Throne.
The inquisition will be informed of your perversions...

you are weak...

"our big green style, CAN NOT be defeated" -- Sargeant johnson.

"Telepaths are not expendable. Mundanes like yourself are"
-
lol @ Sarge.
-
The Golden Throne is a lie, conjured by the Preisthood to keep the loyalty of their bastard Marines. The Eldar know the true path.
-
Pah! A resounding WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHHH!!!!!!!!!! to you all. The future's bright. The future's GREEN!

Why do all geeks end up quoting Warhammer at some point... s'like one of those stereotypes that actually work...
-
Just played Dawn of War. 's quite good. Thought the Ork "greetings" (the messages when you select a unit) were quite funny - "Up yours!" and "Sod off!" being particularly good Haven't played actual warhammer since I was 14. The people started to scare me at that point....
-
Anyone do the live action stuff? My cousin does... He is wierd. :wtf:

There seems to be two types of WH players:
The cool but slightly nerdy type- i.e. the guy who's got the nice girl, and plays a little as a leisure hobby with da boyz.
The completely weird psycho freak- i.e. trenchcoats, swords, quoting Lord of the Rings and 1984 constantly.

:nervous:
hehehehe Seriously though, I think anyone with the imagination to play computer games, and the ability to get away from this world by taking a short break in another one, has probably passed through Warhammer Fantasy or Warhammer 40K along the way ;) Or at least Amsterdam :D
-
*has never played Warhammer*
-
But I bet Amsterdam was fun ;) LOL

I've only become aware of WH recently, with 40k being far more interesting to me, and I've never been more than 90 miles from the US.
-
"Oh em gee! 4 73h 3mp0r3r!"
-
I don't play Warhammer, either of them. I'll stick to BattleTech, thanks, though I might get Dawn of War since Relic generally makes good games.
That said, the Imperial Guard is cooler then you Space Marines. *was infected with Imperial Guard love by his only Warhammer 40k-playing friend*
-
The Tau have the coolest looking equipment and characters. The Space Marines are the best all-around fighters. That's about all I know. That and the Space Marines are all centered around the worship of the Emperor as some kind of living god, who's actually dead. And that the only way the SMs stay tops it because the Orks don't play well with each other and the Chaos Marines are a bunch of pansy asses who'd rather slink around than have an actual war.
-
Actually, I've never ever played 40K, I have played Fantasy Battles, back years ago when it was good.
My love of Warhammer came mainly from painting up the models, not playing the Game.
Except Bloodbowl, that was fun, and I'm also sure someones done a PC game of it?
