Synopsis:
-Screen bleeding with 480p on certain HDTVs fixed
-Online multiplayer connection times improved
-Foundation multiplayer map is unlocked with the update so you do not have to beat the game and activate a certain training session to unlock it.
If you dont have Live, find a friend that has it, and transfer the update on their Xbox to a memory card where you can then put it on your Xbox.
-
What if we don't have friends with live, and we don't have memory cards?
-
then you'r screwed!
-
i wish they put in an option to change the spilt screen mode from horiztontal to vertical without having to set the display options to "widescreen" in the xbox main menu.
-
That's funny. A patching system for a console game.
-
No Live. Oh well. ;)
-
ah cool that fixes Screen bleeding in my HDTV while playing halo2
-
Hey Raa, if you want to get the update, I still have not used the Live code you gave me. So you can still sign up for 2 months, download the update, and cancel your subscription.

Almost all Xbox live games are updated regurely with an automatic update system that activates whenever you log into live.
-
You know, I realize I suck for not having an X-Box or a PS2, but I don't see the attraction. I enjoy actually playing games for a while before I buy another one to waste time with, not playing through one in a dozen hours and then moving on.

ditto, i'd try the two month trial, but since i don't have a credit card.. i'm screwed :p
-
I'm on the same boat as Turnsky. I don't have a CC. ANd It's not terribly important to me anyway...
-
Could this be the first ever patch for a console game?
I'de say so.

it's an interesting concept, i mean, some games /do/ have bugs in them when they're released on console
-
Yeah, but it shoots massive hole in the argument that console games don't have to be patched.

that's true. but notice these are mainly just fixes in Halo2's netcode?
-
I didn't have live nor a credit card.
But I bought Live with Halo2, and easily got a visa. (Which I thought I had no chance of getting... :p) (I also bought HL2 via steam with it and played it the hour after it was released :D)
It is very awsome! :)
Until I pick up a long enough cable though, I have to disconect the modem and drag it over to the other port and have a wire going straight through the center of the lounge room... but its totally worth it.
I've only been on twice, but it is still heaps kewl. Check out my stats at Bungie.net, GamerTag: Grug85
You guys should try and set it up, that way we can go around together and whoop butt! :D (Maybe even start a HLP clan :D)

Now that would be cool :) I think, indeed Live is neat I really like Halo2 multi-player options too. using swords is just kickass
btw watch out those bungie guys those are really good players:shaking: :eek2:

Yes, you do suck. :p
The attraction is ease of use - plug it into the telly, play it, unplug it. (plus some other stuff like native offline-stroke-splitscreen multiplayer support and a common ergonomically designed controller)
Of course, a lot of PC games only last about 10 hours too.... the Call of Duty games spring to mind instantly.
-
Yeah, I would setup Live for a HLP clan. But not until I get broadband. :p ;)
-
I would, but I only got a 2 month trial of Live and no TV near my net connection.

Not in any way related to x-box or Halo2, but surely Gamespy can loan the odd private server once in a while for online gaming?
Or can they?
I don't know. It;d be nice if they could, though.
-
Oh yeah, I'm sure they have the ability. Don't know if they'd let you, though - unless they can make a buck out of it somewhere.
-
Hmmmm.
I assume there's already a PlanetHalo somewhere?
-
EDIT; nice to get the link right, eh?
www.haloplanet.com
-
I could set up a clan...
-
Yeah, "Planet Halo" is quite something else. ;)

or maybe it strenghtens the argument that modern "consoles" are nothing but Computers-light. Showing yet again that the PC won. :D :p

Dammit.
I'd have got away with it too, if it wasn't for you lousy kids.
