I haven't been here in a While O_o But anyway,
Im playing on the 3.6 Build and During the game, It locks up after something Big happens, The Sounds alright but, The game locks up Completely
IE: First mission of the FS2 campain, When the Vasuden's Beam Cannon's Open Fire on the NTC, or Alot of Stuff Explode at once
System Specs:
XP Home,Sp 2
2 Gig Celeron
386 MB Ram
Intel Extreme Grafics Card, 128Mb i think
-
Isn't the Intel Extreme an onboard cheapo graphics "card" with shared memory? It may not be supported.
Are you running anything in the background that might be stealing resources from FSO? I've found that leaving MSN Messenger, Yahoo, or their ilk running in the background just rapes FSO's performance and causes CTD's.
-
Yea, the Intel is a "Cheapo" Grafics Card but thats all i have right now
Most the of time i have Msn open the Has Speed good even with MSN or anything up, the thing about it has Never CTD... it just Locks up
-
It sounds like a memory issue actually, 386Mb should theoretically be ok though.....
Does the graphics card take the memory from your main memory?
-
It Shouldn't.... I don't know really. the Speed in game is to me Perfect though
-
Hmmmmmmmm... Well, if the bug was something to do with your graphics card alone, I wouldn't have thought it would just be when the screen is 'busy', that doesn't make sense, slowdowns I can understand, but not freezing.
Try posting the bug on Mantis and see if the Devs can offer some advice?
-
Err Mantis? O_o

I had something like this when i first started playing FS2, some reason just changing my sound settings off EAX sorted it out.
-
ExDeath, you've got the same cheap-ass, useless graphics chip I had.
It's not HTL-compatible. Trust me on this.
-
Lol, I know its not HTL Compat but im trying anyway >_<
Its Working Perfect but for those Lock ups.
-
I used to get alot of lockups under FSO. I found that dropping my AGP setting to half of maximum resolved it, and improved overall system stability. For example, my R9600XT is rated at 8X-AGP, as is my motherboard, but I get best stability when running at 4X, with no noticeable slowdowns. It could solve things for you.

Thanks i'll try it out..
-
No go, How do you Edit the Agp #? O_o
-
i don't think you can if you have an integrated graphics card.
-
For my ATI card, the drivers add in tabs to the video card properties where the AGP bus multiplier can be manipulated. Go to your display drivers, then chose the "settings" tab and select "Advanced". If you can't find it anywhere in there, then I'm at a loss for further advice... beyond getting a new MB & VC, but if you're gonna do that, you might as well get a new CPU & RAM (DDR if you're not using it already) at the same time. I know a 2 GHz CPU isn't exactly nothing to sneeze at, but we're talkin' about a Celery here. Trust me, a full fledged P4 or Athlon(64) is the way to go over a Celeron/Duron/Sempron. For the MB, again... match to your desired CPU, RAM, & VC in terms of expansion slots and upgradeability (Serial-ATA is a must, but retain P-ATA for legacy devices).
Well what'd'ya know, I started out trying to diagnose a graphical error and went on to advise someone I've never met to replace the bulk of his computer, just because I hate on-board video & audio with a vengance. I hope I didn't make you feel too inadequate over that. For your sake however, I hope you have sufficient funding to consider my proposal.

Lol, I fixed it... Ive got to use Software mode... O_o thanks for all the help and all.... Now i just got to get it working on Hardware mode @_@
-
Hardware-Mode = Hardware Transform&Lighting (HTL)
Your graphics card/chip != HTL.
So you won't get it working, i'm afraid.
Or you remove/rename the models-vp so FS2 must use the non-HTL models.
-
does with work with ordinary FS2 in the first place? If it doesn't, then it wont work with Fs2 Open.....
-
I remember Running into a HT&L Emu a While back i just wish i could find it
