after you read that, you'll think so even more.

......reasons why the only deadline a game should have is "when it's done"
Anyway, isn't not giving overtime illegal?

Depends on the job and the wage/salary paid.  I use to think that you earned overtime for any hours worked over 40(or the standard work week), but apparently this isn't the case everywhere.

				Could be piece-work based employment.

Liberator, one of the wonderful things that the Republicans pushed through Congress was a reduction in overtime and who got it.
I'm not sure that's what's to blame here, but there are steps being taken to reduce it.
Whatever the political context of this is, if any (which I doubt), it's immoral, inhumane, probably illegal, and definitely unethical.

Yes, I'd heard about this. EA is acutally getting ataacked from several angles regarding bad working practices, poor employee relations etc. If it leads to less bloody EA sports games, it's good. :)

this week at my college they had a presentation that EA was giving to us for future hire(its an art school). I THOUGHT i was upset that I missed it and after reading this..man I'm going friggin tell all my classmates, EA isn't going to be very happy when they suddenly see they can't easily replace their workforce with new "fresh students" who have no clue about the lies they tell them at the interview. They are soo unlucky that i came across this, I have 2 other major art schools next to my own college and damn, Ill make sure to let all of them know, in the next few years they either better shape up or they are going out of business...at least on the eastern coast...
Also, certain people are exempt from being paid overtime, in CA what they are doing is illegal, not sure about the other states.
