I had in mind to create a special skybox for a special mission for the Starfox mod.
Now this skybox would look much better with some flat, semi transparent objects in it.
Is this possible?
-
methinks they call it a skyBOX for a reason ;)
meh, i dunno. i doubt it though.
-
yeah, you can do that, they won't be able to do anything though
-
Yeah. You can have multiple planes/spheres/boxes in your box, but they will be part of a single subobject, incapable of moving or being destroyed.
-
they only need to be seeable :)
-
Thanks for the help.
The subobjects are sunrays. 2d flat planes. But how can I make them transparent?
BTW you will sure be impressed by what I'm working on. :)

I got an idea...
How about leaving the regualr faces textured INVISIBLE but you texture the lines around them (like black or yellow or whatever?)
If this sounds stupid, I have no idea what I am talking about... This happens a lot. :P
-
I hope I got it right... Woudn't that cause very thin lines?
That's not the effect I'm aiming for.

use textures with alpha chanels, if you are lazy, just use -trans.
