SG-1, the game.

http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=21606

The graphics look splendid, which is about all I can say since a)I'm not too knowledgable on Stargate, especially SG-1 and b) there are very few details available at this time.

I hope Carter's ass is finely sculpted and someone is able to make a "Bare-Ass Naked" mod.

Down boy!  I'd settle for a thong mod meself.  The other way would be too distracting.

that's another thing... did anyone ever get a hold of Mona from Max Payne 2's "character model"?  there was a whole big deal about that :p  it was pretty cool actually... you could play through the whole game as Mona >>> naked.  you could do the bullet time dives and everything.

Awsome.

I hope T'aulk has the ability to pick up tanks and throw them at the enemy, withstand 7x the damage as anyone else, and does those face contortions in game, as well as repeatedly says 'Indeed' on command whenever you want.
He should also sh*t bricks and be able to knock down doors with his bald head.

T'aulk ROX!!!!!!! (if only i could spell his name :p)

Jack O'Niel should have over 150 million orginal pun lines in the game for every possible scenario.
Daniel Jackson (the humanitarian pussy) should die.

They should license HL2's engine with the shaders etc. Be pretty kewl... :D

Looking forward to this I am! :D

they shoot all desert scenes in a studio actually. a big ass studio. and it's O'Neill, with two L's. and Teal'c. They showed what looks like the interior of a Ha'tak (bad guy space ship), a forest (it's Canada, damnit!) and the SGC.  And for the record, Teal'c is no stronger than any normal human, especially without his Goa'Uld symbiote. And no, I can't wait for a thong Colonel Carter mod either.

Probably around Osoyoos or something like that. Theres a whole frigging desert in the BC interior. Used to be part of the one that stretches down to Mexico, before the Rockies were formed.

Ensign Hailey was the Air Force Academy student that was , er, agressive. So much so she punched out a mysoginist upper classman for his comment (my kind of woman) :D

Anyway she's short cute, and soo nieve (also my kind of woman) ;)

she was in a few episodes but basicly that glowbug that can kill in swarms and phases though defenses episode was the one she debuted in. The scientists gets stuped and capture one and piss off the swarm and so it isolates them from the stargate till Teal'c or O'niell zat themselves and make a rush for the gate.

I was SOOO dissapointed when they didn't bring back CLONE O'niell,  Hailey, or Jonas Quin back for the SG-1 team this season, now that they have an opening.

I'm gonna have to search the IMDB to sind out the actresse's name to see what else she has done..

That black guy with the thing on his forehead creeps me out to no end. I watched like 10 minutes of SG-1 and after seeing him continually, I just couldn't bring myself to take the show seriously.

...plus he looks like he's constipated and/or gay.

And Window of Opportunity. They get bored going round in loops and start playing golf through the Stargate.

As a total uninitiate to this series, wasn't Stargate originally a movie involving ancient Egypt in some way?  I remember seeing it on a tour bus during a field trip a while back, but I had little to no idea what was going on.  As for the series, I saw one episode of it (something about a black hole spreading out from the gate), and though I shouldn't make a judgment just from that, I found it very dull.  Give me Star Trek (any of them) any day. :D

Uh-huh.  Synopsis of the movie was; God Ra is actually an alien, takes slaves through the Stargate to other planet, slave revolt on Earth buries Stargate, Stargate refound, Merkin soldiers travel to alien planet and eventually free slaves, kill Ra, save Earth.

And that episode you're referring to was a bit ****, IIRC.  I quite enjoy the series, and I hate most(all?) sci-fi stuff.

Trust me I'm one of the biggest SG fanboy's in this forum (yes, I'm sure there's a bigger one). Apophis is...well...a little fruity, let's say. His outfits are usually more lavish than queen Amidala. And thats not exagerrating.

The whole story with Egypt is that many, if not all ancient gods (Egyptian, Greek/Roman, and even a Chinese emperor) were actually Goa'Uld, little snake thingy's that burrow into your spine, attach to your brain stem, and take over your body. The effects are a deep voice, an ego the size of Alaska, and regeneration from death w/ a sarcophagus (healing coffin thingy). The Goa'Uld steal technology and used human slaves back in 4000 BC to build pyramids as their landing pads. Raa was the first of these encountered and was in the Stargate movie. Then came Apophis, then Hathor, and eventually people like Anubis, Osiris, Baal, and Cronus. SG-1 has been responsible (directly or indirectly) for the deaths of over 10 system lords, the loose coalition of Goa'Uld.

The little grey Roswell aliens are Asgard, the most kick ass little guys in the series. The main contact guy is Thor, and other's known are Freyr and Loki. Obviously they take on Norse personas.

And did anyone listen to me? They film the desert shots in a  big, fat ass studio.

There are areas like that, yes. Maybe not miles of it, but with proper use of camera angles its not necessary. B.C. Has almost everything. Jungles, forests, mountains, desert, urban sprawls.

Pretty much to sum up Stargate for a complete Trekkie-

Take the TOS episode "Who Mourns for Adonais?" set it in the modern day, and put it on fire, down a freeway, at a 100 mph with McGyver trying to make a black hole out of a microwave to put it out. ...and make McGyver a girl :p

Striker is partially correct.  They have filmed some desert scenes in a very large set (I know for a fact that they filmed the desert scenes in "Cold Lazarus" in such a set.)  However, other episodes like "The Tok'Ra" were filmed on-location in an actual desert.  They even have a special set for "Chulac" which consisted of a large mound of sand on the edge of a forest.

Amazing what you learn when you listen to the DVD commentaries. :)

That being said, yes the scenes in "Avatar" did have the game models for Teal'C and Daniel.

As for the "clones",
Spoiler:
there is no "clone" of Jonas.  There were "clones" of the original SG-1 team made (well, replicas actually seeing as they were droids).  However all but two of them are "dead".  Teal'C-bot died saving the actual Teal'C from Kronus, and Daniel-bot got his head blown off by a jaffa in the same episode.

Rictor: I suggest you watch the show from the beginning and give it alteast a season.  It starts out a little odd from the beginning, but it does flesh out and you start to see the characters mature a little. (ie: The O'Niell character finally getting some closure concerning the death of his son...)

The O'neill-bot ran out of power after being shot several times.

The Carter-bot also seemed to run out of power; she was on board Cronus' ship, unplugging a bunch of crystals inside a force field to shut doors when she finally keeled over.

Technically the panteions of earth gods already existed witht he goa'uld (and to lesser extent the asgard) taking the personae of various gods as their own to facilitate their dominion over the people (for the goa'uld) or their protection of the humans (for the asgard).

The goa'uld did not come up with the gods, they stole that idea just like they stole everything else they own.

Depends on whether you're believing the show or the movie. The movie has the pyramids at over 10,000 years old which would be before any egyptian culture existed (and therefore most likely before the egyptian gods).
