I am uber psyched!!!
Actually, its not my artwork which is being exhibited. I had worked for an artist last year, doing some CG and special effects work for him and I didn't think my efforts would make the final cut of his video artwork because of aesthetic style differences.
Despite my personal gripes and insecurities with my work, not only did 100% of my efforts made it in, but his work was accepted and is now being screened at the newly reopened Museum of Modern Art in NYC!!! Not only that, his work has a 4 page article in the magazine Art in America!!! Perhaps my gripes were all in my head?
All glory and credit go deservingly straight to him of course, but having roughly 2 minutes of my CG technical contributions (out of an 8 minute video piece) be viewed by a fine art audience is more than enough for me to be PSYCHED!!!
Hell, I even made it in the credits as "3d Animator" My hope in succeeding in the fine art circles of NYC with my CG work(among other things) has just got re-energized!!! CG work can have a place in the fine arts after all.
It will be screened one more time so if any artistically inclined person is in the NYC area on Dec 5, PM me and I'll provide details and times.

I don't think he would appreciate a sudden appearance of his video work on the internet. If you thought copyright issues are bad in the commercial world, the fine art community would march to your house with torches!!!
I did a Google search just on his name to see if there are any screenshots of it..... apparantly the MOMA was not the only place it was exhibited! So far I count 3 exhibitions across the US that had the video along with his ellaborate installation sculptures relating to the same theme of "flight".

Coolness. Way to go. Just don't start to get too artsy with Freespace stuff.
:D

A real heartfelt WELL DONE, from my corner of the globe.

Great work. But you do realize that you'll have to start wearing a berret now, its compulsory.

Awesome
You did remember to put subliminal FS related messages in your work, didn't you? :nervous:

Impressive, most impressive.

Well done Omni, but having seen some of your artwork, don't be too amazed, you earned it :)

Thanks alot folks. I wish you all could come to New York and see it. Last screening is on Dec 5.
The video piece itself will leave you scratching your heads. I guess its an Italian neo-futurist thing, but its nice to see that CG and digital art is starting to be accepted in the fine arts. There are still many old skool elitist dinosaurs that refuse to accept anything digital.
LET THE DIGITAL REVOLUTION BEGIN!!!!
