Title: So I'm playing Gameboy DS.....
Post by: MatthewPapa on November 24, 2004, 07:37:42 pm
Gameboy DS.
Its pretty neat. Anyone else have or played it so far?

They are porting all of the old n64 games to it. There are 2 screens and you have the option of controlling it with just a stylus. It also doubles as a palm pilot, and has 802.11 wireless ability. Looks pretty promising dor nintendo. It might pull them out of the hole. They just now realized (to everyone's dismay) that he little kid market isnt working for them now and are finally making games for older people. Instead of making stuff like "Nemo and his underwater adventure" they are now instead making stuff like "goldeneye" and "the sims" etc etc. The new cartgidges are slightly bigger than a quarter, about this small. So friking tiny its crazy.

It uses a lithium ion battery that lasts fot about 10 hours. Seems like the next generation. Cost (depending on where u get it) is about 140$.

I thought it was called Nintendo DS, and it aint a new gameboy.

And nintendo were never in a hole, really. They have a ****load of free capital, last I heard.

Will get a DS in the near future. by importing, probably. nintendo doesn't see europe as a market profitable enough to release stuff in early. could be because of the retarded people that wants the games translated to german, french and spanish, what do I know?

Nintendo still earn a wodge of cash via the handhelds market and also from licensing (i.e. Pokemon), particularly in Japan IIRC.

NB:  'stuff like Goldeneye' ?  (oh, and the console version of the sims - the 'Urbz' - is targeted roughly at the 10-17 age market, which is basically kids)
