Ah, there's no justice like angry mob justice...
I'm taking me home a toilet!
There'd better be two!
-
I say the majority of em should be burned alive as well.
-
And this is the way that they think the police will help them?
-
Well, to play devils advocate, if the police hadn't become corrupt enough to force the situation to mob justice in the first place, it would never have come to pass.
It's a pity it was Federal Agents that bore the brunt of that anger though :(

To the leftorium!

Look at the News of the World thing a few years back. The police might not have done that little. All it takes is a bunch of idiots who want mob rule in the place of law and order.
Then it becomes very easy to claim that the police aren't doing enough since they aren't lynching anyone.

you mean when the educated and reasonable readership of the News of the World launched their 'anti-paedophile' campaign, which included such gems as attacking someone with a similar name to a paedophile 'named and shamed' in said paper, or when they decided to attack paediatrists? (not only did they not know what one was - or evidently how to spell 'paedophile' - they also expected a child molestor to have a plate saying so on their door?!)
-
Just never send them out for a pacifier...... :nervous:
I think the thing is that most people just want to have a quiet life. We will put up with a hell of a lot of crap and do nothing more than whinge and complain, especially if we know there are people worse off.
It actually takes quite extreme conditions to push 'normal' people into mass violence like this, and a lot of built up anger and helplessness over a lot of time.
-
Well, let's not rule out the effect of mass media + mass stupidity.

Holy ****...

Exactly. All the half heads involved in that complained that the police weren't doing enough too.

Frankly, I reckon we should be monitoring these people who read the News of the World, the Sun, the Mail, etc, and arranging for their re-education.

Or re-location?

Depends if it would be cheaper to build a giant wall round Milton Keynes (or holding city #1 as it shall be known - holding city #2 shall be, I dunno, Stirling and reserved for neds).
We can't deport them, because that'd be an act of war. It's a miracle Spain hasn't invaded after the carnage on the beaches of Tenerife.
