Calling all additions or improvements to the retail game. The SCP is working on new updated media VPs.

I made a big package of retail improvement effects a while ago, but the DL is down (swooh).

BTW you should wait with the new VP IMHO. I'm planning to realse some 32-Bit effects (DDS) as soon as I have time to work on them. (I'm talking about animations of course ;) )

The big package were they before or after the VPs were released last year?
In reference to the new effects, are you refering to explosion animations? What kinds of improvements are they going to be off. Also will you have a low quality and a high quality version for renders?

After the VP release.
(The release consists of a new shockwave animation, new gas animation, new smoke animation, new missle hit animation, new particle animation, new beamglows, some thruster effects and trails, well and some other stuff.

You mean the EFF ones?
I've not yet decided which effects I'll work on.

Just more colors. And new effects from the scratch. Probably bigger than the stock ones.

Probably yes, at least for the most effects.

There are some effects that look fine with 256 colors, I will not replace these effects with EFFs. In fact I've replaced all more or less ugly effects with ANIs. :)


BTW I could replace most of my effects in a few hours. But I'll have to try out how DDS works for effects before. The high qulality(24-/32-Bit) versions of the ANI frames are on my HDD.

Sounds great, but WMCoolmon is really the one to talk to.
As of now I am refering everyone to another thread for this discussion and others concerning consolidation of improvements.
