The album, not the song.
I like it.
Boulevard of Broken Dreams kicks ass.
-
Its alright, but i like their older style infinetly better.
-
Who wants to (in complete accordance with International and U.S. Law) let me hear it?
-
The album is a mix of their "styles". Like you can recongize a few songs that sounds like old stuff, a few slower songs and a few songs that sound newer.
Next to American Idiot, my favourite is She's a Rebel.
-
Blvd. is my favourite song as well... As a whole, it's not as good as their early stuff, though I do like the way it's more adventurous than their other stuff. There's something about their "new "sound I really don't like though - the guitar tone has gone kind of jangly, like they've not turned the gain up quite enough. I find it really irritating, because it detracts from the songs noticeably. The title track has a great riff though.....
-
I like only a few of their songs. none of which appear on said album.
-
yeah boulevard of broken dreams is an awesome song, so is 'wake me up when september ends', and 'are we the waiting'.
it's a great album, i like it a lot.
-
the musical quality is ****, at least from what iv heard.
the riff on american idiot took me 20 seconds to figure out, no lie.
its just fangs and no talent.
-
it's the political message that's the point you ignorant SOB
[/drews on my ****list]
-
people who dont have the time to teach themselves how to play full chord riffs, or at least somthing a little more complicated obviously dont have much inteligence
60's bands could sing rebellion. But they could _play_ rebellion too.
-
If you're looking for deep meaning, look elsewhere. This album may have a "political" slant to it, but Greenday is just good, fun music, same as always.
-
I woke up for school one morning to Boulevard of Broken dreams and when I got home I downloaded it, it such an awesome song. I hope to get the album this Christmas
-
Creepy, I'm listening to it right now.
I prefer Novacaine myself. Reminds me of Comfortably Numb for some reason.
-
If You want good guitar riffs i would sudgest Janes Addiction - Just because, or Unwritten Law - Seeing Red
-
Heard Blvd. on Sirius one day and aquired it that night. I've yet to aquire any other songs, but i'll look around for a few soon. I've always liked Greenday, but not to the point that I think I can critique their intelligence or musical style.

well believe it or not, some people like music according to how it sounds, not just how hard the guitar work is
if that's the case, then some of the most popular bands, (such as Weezer, who have most of their songs just a couple of power chords repeated again and again) wouldn't be that popular, would they...

Nah, True Nature is a better JA riff. Probably the heaviest one they've done.
If you want a truly stunning riff, you have to listen to Ozzy's No More Tears. Zakk Wylde is a god...
