Title: next gen Crytek engine.
Post by: Rictor on December 04, 2004, 07:17:57 am
The engine behind FarCry just got a makeover. If you ask me, it almost rivals the new Unreal engine, and is way beyond any game currently available.

Ah nope, while that engine is very impressive, its water is definitly behind HL2, never mention UE3.

Also, face models need alot of work.
Also cool is that the movie adds backstory to FC's story.

However, its also missing some nice dyanmic stuff, walls look really bad.

But impressive for that engine, a great improvement.

Bah Mr Picky.
Looks awsome.
I only hope they can make the game more fun.
That's where it's biggest issues were, once you beat the game, there's nothing left to do...

Looks pretty good, but other than cramming the most texture detail as possible into everything and using a dodgy soft shadow kinda thing (which looks pretty crap IMO) I'm not seeing anything particularly new.

It hard-reboots this computer (on-board Radeon 9100 IGP).

EDIT: Watched the AVI instead. Danged lo-res thing. Can't tell crap about quality.

I can't wait until they get PC's powerful enough to run games with radiosity lighting in real time. Hubba hubba!
