PilotView used to be a useful tool before I started using FreeSpace Open. I could read my pilot's score, current squadron's name, etc. Those times have been over for years know. Is there any way I can know how much score my pilot has?
-
Isn't that kept in the barracks info anyways?
-
Nope. Score is kept hidden away from the player. All it does is tell the game when the player gets bumped to the next rank.
TopAce. Quit complaining that a program which hasn't been updated for 4 years can't read the latest files. You might get further if you ask nicely.
-
The pilot format has been changed, so that's just normal.
-
SCORE is just a number... :D

Find the original author and get them to update it.

Of course, had the Pilot files not been updated and enhanced, people would be shouting just as loud.
Sometimes I really have sympathy for you guys :(
-
Your sympathy is appreciated. :)
Feel free to send chocolate, flowers, and early Christmas presents. :D

Isn't it Kazan?
-
I think all / most of the DM tools are by Heiko Herrman (+1 or 2 others).
-
I thought Heiko Herman was Kazan. Maybe because this name sounds German.
-
Heiko Herrmann >> Kazan.

didn't WCM make a pilot viewer recently?
-
I made CSGEdit, but that could very well be invalidated with the recent pilot file changes.
I do have a partial pilotfile-management library though.
-
I got 404 when I click on the 'My site' in your signature.

The link is fix0red. I think you misunderstood though...the pilotfile-management library I had was a programming library, the frontend program never had a (working) interface because I discovered that ALL the progress info was in the CSG files. Thus was CSGEdit born.
