Title: Animated shinemaps

May sound stupid but I really need animated shinemaps.

I don't want to spoil the fun, so I can't tell you what I need it for, but I know what I'm asking for.


Is there a way to make this possible in the future?

Just make the file an ani and give it the same name you would a shinemap. Delete any other references.

I've tried that already. Works only for glow map and base map...

If it did work, it's broken now.

Animated specmaps aren't supported.  Looking over the CVS logs it never was.  It wouldn't be difficult to add but this will probably have to wait until after 3.6.5.

Well, no problem for me.

Any vague idea when 3.6.5 will be released? This year perhaps?

Supposedly on the 15th.  The testers were supposed to get builds Friday but last minute fixes (by me) held it up until Sunday night.  Now it just depends on how many bugs are still hiding in there as to how long it takes to be officially released.

As quickly as possible after the release of 3.6.5 I want to add in the Linux/OSX code.   It's a monster pain in the a$$ trying to keep everything updated and working so I want to beat the code rush for new features.  There will likely be a new test build right after that so I'll try and get the animated shinemaps done at the same time.
