Title: Future of R128
Post by: R128Windrunner on March 21, 2001, 06:11:00 am
As you know that R128 hasn't been updated for a long time now. And i am afraid that there won't be anymore updateds. We have had a discussion and we came to a point where we are considering about closing down R128. I am sorry to say this but it looks like R128 is standing on her last leg  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)

Windrunner, Has Inquisitor not mentioned HLP in any way? I believe there are a few things we need to talk about...

Its time for amalgamation.  I'd prefer that the materials go to HLP (if R128 is indeed closing) rather than FSW since we've already been accused enough of trying to control the FreeSpace community (the conspiracy theorists out there) with our stranglehold on resources.  Besides, we need to have some competition and a sharing of resources.  It has always been the way of things with the webmasters of this community.

As it happens, we've already talked about this. Hence Thunder's reference to the good Inquisitor.

It's sad to hear this about Ross 128, but its loss will not be in vain.

Maybe I should tell Ice that I hired all of those theorists to make things more fair... j/k

I agree that it's materials should probably head to HLP if the site is closing.

However, on the rumors of an FS reference site, I'd suggest that a pooling of community resources would be best.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/wink.gif)

(i.e. if there will be an FS reference website, we have a dedicated team with it's own server and use everything that sites like FSW and HLP have to make it the best)
