Title: Odd crash
Post by: Darkhill on December 08, 2004, 11:30:25 pm
When quitting the game does anybody ever get a invalid page fault?  I used to get that every once in awhile but now I get it every time.  I get it with the Imperial Alliance project, an older build of your 3.6, and even an unmodified version of FS2.

This was working perfectly for me earlier today then I went to add a few new sounds and then this problem came up.  I've removed all my changes and even tried an older backup with no effect.  The thing I don't get is it does the same thing to FS2 which nothing has even been changed.  I've deleted the registry tried different combos and still the same thing.  I even reinstalled my OS tonight thinking that might be the problem.  Anybody have any ideas?  This is driving me crazy.

Try one of the debug build and post it in mantis with the fs.log and a dxdiag report.

I'm not just talking about fs2_open builds crashing.  The completely original and unmodified backup of the game does the same thing now.

I dug out my copy of 3.6 that I got right after it was released and built both retail and debug with the same result.  The only interesting part in the debug spew is:

WARNING: VRAM is at -18432 instead of zero after flushing!
ML

----
Freespace Multi Log - Closing on Thu, Dec 09, 2004  at 11:49AM
WARNING: VRAM is at -2048 instead of zero after flushing!

And its the same two values everytime.  I can't say if I remember this before in a debug build.

Just for fun, what are the URLs to your latest and stable retail/debug builds?
