I'd like to round up all the people who by choice or circustance only play or prefer to play or still play Freespace 1. It seems a shame that there is a ton of stuff being done for Freespace 2 and those of us who stick with FS1 or can't run FS2 cannot benefit from any of it.
I'd like to get to gether some people and see what we can come up with for FS1 and give these FS2 freaks a run for thier money.
Just because they tacked a "2" on the end of Freespace does not mean that you HAVE to play or mod for the new version.
Lets have some fun ladies and germs.
So...if you are or know a person who just can't get enough of FS1 or can't get FS2 at all then get your butt posted here and lets start discussing this worthwhile topic.

I've done most of a fs2-fs1 conversion where I have converted a lot of the ships from FS2 and given them FS1 weapons. This is from fighters to the Sathanas.
I also have a shielded Lucifer for FS1 which works in the actual campaign.

Would you be willing to make these things available to the public should the HLP crew decide to open a FS1 section.
Wuould you like to join a team to bring new and better tech to the FS1 game?

Well, there's my Velocity Mod ("http://sushicw.homestead.com/files/freespace/index.htm") which includes files for FS1...
FS1 is NOT dead yet- if any source code is released, it will be done for FS1 first. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Ok then how about making a hosted site here just for Freespace 1 Mods. We could then make a small campaign using them. Is anyone interested in this?
I've always wanted to see a large FS1 project, but I only see FS2 projects.

Well I can add FS2 ships, the GTC Warrior (the original fs1 version of the GTTC Warrior) My reskins of the Orion, Hades, Zeus, the shielded Lucifer and I'll even do some missions if a campaign is created.

Great idea!!! I got FreeSpace 1 at home. Still haven't uninstalled it yet.
By the way, how do you make the graphics in FreeSpace 1 better when I play it? I heard that I would have tweak the registery or something.

I've heard there is a utility to fool games into running at a higher resolution, but I don't know if it works with FS1...

A registry hack, available from DNet ("http://www.descent-network.com"). I never could get it to work...
