Amd or intel. And your favorite company that makes the board;)
-
It's not a motherboard, it's a CPU. :p
And my vote is for AMD.
Asus for the board....
-
my favourite form factor is mini-itx. my other computer is an amd with an msi mobo. I guess I liek via chipsets. shut up, lsd.
-
AMD, with an MSI motherboard. Unfortunately, I'm using an Asus at the moment....
-
I have AMD in one computer Intel in the other. I use the AMD for games and the Intel to run Lightwave, which has a few extra 'enhancements' for Intel based chips.
Both on Asus motherboards.
-
A7N8X-Deluxe from Asus and AMD 2700+ Athlon XP do me quite well.
-
I've never had any reason to complain about either, a few random crashes on the AMD, but that is more because of the sheer volume of stuff on it, and I think I have Adware lurking still.
I've also had a few VPU crashes on the Intel, but that is more likely down to the Radeon 9200 being pushed too hard by the Sims 2, besides, the good thing about Radeon is that a VPU crash is not fatal ;)
-
My VPU crashes tend to be rather interesting. Fun, interesting colors all over the screen, causing a need for instant rebooting.
-
Never had a VPU crash... although when I installed the Omega cat 4.4 drivers, they corrupted somehting, and every time I enter the catalyst control center, (which was supposed to be uninstalled) or I try to get into the advanced options for the video drivers, I get a BSOD and it instantly reboots the pc. :D
-
My VPU crashes are due to the fact that my 9800 is second-hand. My friend, who I bought it from, flashed it up to a 9800XT bios and put a Zalman cooler on it, which is just a bit weak for the purpose. I should probably flash it back down to either 9800 or 9800 Pro at some point...
-
I have the ASUS A8V Deluxe for AMD with A64 3500+.
-
Asrock K7S8X-E 3.01 with Duron 1400, running at 2000 with 400 FSB. Best bang for the buck, back then. :)
-
ANything with SLI? :D And not Voodoo 2 crap...
-
A7N8X-Deluxe from Asus and AMD 2400+ TB Athlon XP do me quite well.
-
AMD Athlon64 FX55. On a DFI board. A DFI board with SLI. With two 6800 Ultra Extremes in SLI.
-
You win Chrono! Though you lose a few point cause IIRC it's an Alienware so you didn't put it together yourself.
MSI 745 Ultra(SiS 745 chipset) with a AMD Athlon 1800+
-
What on earth are you talking about? SLI isn't Alienware tech. DFI is an awesome motherboard brand. The Athlon64 FX55 was released a while ago. 6800UE are just as easy to find as X800XTPE's (read, impossible to find).
Assuming I had enough time and money, I could easily build such a system.
In any case, this is what I'd want, not what I have TT
-
MSI K7N2 Delta2 Platinum
And what operating systems can it run, I went to the msi website and it does not give you clear information about it. So I turn to my friends that can "help" So please help. Thank you

same, but with an Athlon XP 3200+ barton core.. plus a gig of ram.. ;)
-
The motherboard I like best is the one that's inside my computer.
IBM processor, 8 x RAM slots, with up to 8GB RAM (I have 2GB) Serial ATA (2 x HD) 8xAGP slot, 3 x PCI slot, Firewire 400, Firewire 800, USB 2.0, ports. 5.1 optical in, 5.1 optical out, and some other stuff...
Works for me anyway...

While I'm exactly in the middle with a 2600+
It appears that the Asus A7N8X Deluxe is a rather popular board :D
-
I have one of the old, basic A7N8Xes at the moment. Pre-NF2 Ultra 400, so it won't handle a 200 MHz FSB....
-
ASUS Motherboards with AMD Chips and an ATi Card to boot...
-
Dream board? The gigabyte SLI mobo, paired with a FX-55.
But upcoming to me is their Nforce4 ultra non SLI version, paired with a AMD 3500+ Winchester 64-bit :P
Intel's latest offerings havn't exactly beem up to par, and neither has ATi's.
