Title: Warp Drives problem
Post by: fs2freak88 on December 15, 2004, 07:31:32 pm
Hey all

I have a problem in all missions I play. My problem is that I can't warp out! It gives me this error: Engine failure. Cannot Engage Warp Drive.

My engine is at 100%

Any help appreciated.

The warp drive failure bug that was corrected about 2 days after the release of 3.6 but NO ONE notices, even though it says, right there, at the top of the freakin' release thread, that the bug exists, and gives a link to a build where it's fixed in. :doubt:

I can't wait 'til 3.6.5 is released. :)

Don't fix this bug. It gets n00bs off very easy, and dramatically imrpoves their skill by forcing them to play on at least easy.

Enough. I've tried to stay calm with you, I really have, but now, my patience is gone. You need to learn when to SHUT THE FÜCK UP. You have done nothing but make an ass of yourself to almost EVERY PERSON ON THIS BOARD. Learn to read, and you'll find that this problem was solved after the FIRST POST. Now, TWICE you have asked the SAME question. By all definitions, you are a troll. You try the patience of everyone you cross paths with. You compose yourself to look like even more of a retard than you probably are. People wonder why 14 year olds get charectarized as idiots. YOU ARE THAT REASON. Grow up. Either act maturely, or your bad reputation WILL get worse. We as a community have had enough of your attitude, and we WILL NOT TOLERATE IT ANY MORE.

he had already explained that all of the missions he plays do that.  the reason for the problem is also given in this thread.  i've given you that much.  the rest of your answers will have to be found by you.

Work on your campaign more intensively, release it and people will be more patient with you. This is my experience. There was time everyone on this board wanted to see me dead/permanently banned. After I released my campaign, people better tolerate me. The same will happen in your case. You know, I will help with your campaign. Just tell me what to do in the Internal and I will do it.

Think & search before you post.

Read your post twice before you submit.

Read the entire thread before posting, or quote the single post you have read and are replying to.

Try not to ask questions that have been asked before; try search.

Don't post welcome beams to people who aren't making their first post.

Don't offer to do stuff for campaigns unless they are already asking for help.

If you're that desperate to work on something, offer your services on a single thread, in a single forum, posting examples of your work beforehand.

Never, ever, whine; complain politely, don't get testy when people disagree.

Always be polite - make sure to be nicer than the person you reply to (this helps).

Don't take ciriticism/arguements too seriously.

Avoid all cap posts.

:sigh:

1/ if we greeted everyone on their xxth post, it'd just clog up the boards.   you should be greeted on your 1st post - that's the point fo the welcome beam - but not every time you log on.

2/ Any sensible campaign will ask for some proof of competence before they accept staff.  If you're advertising yourself, you need to prove yourself pre-emptively; you'll have to do so regardless, might as well do so early on.  If you're asking, for example, in the MT forum for a 'job', then you need to prove you're good at what you do.

3/ 1: Complaining is different from whining.  Children whine, adults complain.  Complaints have a factual basis and a rational statement behind them, whining usually involves blaming the world for some problem and lamenting it rather than fixing it yourself.
2: Of course you can; I do it all the time
3: In case you need to know; "don't be testy" means accept criticism, argue your case politely, but don't insult people or act like an arse towards them because they criticise you.

4/  It's clear I meant all caps as in 'all caps' as in when you are POSTING LIKE THIS.  Which is basic netiquette.  Whether or not you wish to follow the other rules of grammer/punctuation is up to you.

This is not Instant Messenger - it's a forum, and you're expected to at least try to use good spelling and grammar.  Not doing so is a sign of extreme disrespect.

my spelling is so-so considering i didnt ever learn english (and i still know it much better than other jerks who claim they are learning it for 8 or more years...:D) and the fact that my normal language(normal for me=croatian) is not germanic in nature... its slavenic... and grammar? now tell me where did i demonstrate bad grammar? and i know that i should be capitalizing the first letter of my every sentence but im just too lame to press shift all that times... but names i will write correctly with uppercase first letter :p

you don't put in the apostrophe in contractions like i'm, they're, etc etc.

Post by: Hippo on December 23, 2004, 05:32:59 pm
Most people when they type, will have a finger near the shift key, for the sole purpose of capitalizing letters. It's not hard. Really... :sigh:

I was never greeted on my first post......... :blah:

Heres a good idea why not create a welcome section in HLP where people go to introduce themselves? I think it would be better that way. If first time here post in the welcome section of HLP.

Though I :doubt: that will ever happen.........
