Title: Something you might want for Xmas
Post by: Cabbie on December 16, 2004, 06:50:46 am
Got some free time off work and checked the local PC shop. Found out a really sick new HOTAS system from Satek. The X52. Been out for a month or two I heard but still...

Very slick and those glowy blue bottons and (ornimental) LCD screen looks like a setup more suitable for a space fighter then anything else:

The price is pretty reasonable since you can find deals for it under 100 USD. I wonder how good it is or how long it will last under a lot of abuse :). I'd get it if not for my good old CH Hotas setup.

I wonder how good this baby flies with Freespace :)

Very nice indeed, I do like the blue glows on the controls - a nice touch for dark room gaming.

Me, I love my Cyborg Evo - given that I'm a lefty and it's as responsive as anything I've ever used.

Yeah, I *may* get a X52 after my current stick bites the dust (hopefully not soon!).  I play IL-2 ALOT!  Currently bought Pacific Fighters and I'm having a blast...but its best to do the merged installed with Forgotten Battles, Ace Expansion, and then PF for something like 160 planes to fly!

SPOKEN INTRO:
'twas the night before Christmas and all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
Suddenly I heard a strange noise down below
So, in my flannel pajamas I went tippy-toe
I could see old Saint Nick from the spot where I stood
So I slid down the banister just as fast as I could

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, ee, my two front teeth ?
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you Merry Chritmas

It seems so long since I could say
"isteruzy itting on a thitle
Every time I try to peak
Huh, all I do is whitle

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth ee my two front teeth ?
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you Merry Chritmas

"Jingle Bells" with background whistling and a kazoo
tongue click, bicycle bell, and an "oh, no!"
"Jingle Bells" resumes in the second line of a verse
tongue click, bicycle bell, and an "oh, no!"
"Jingle Bells" resumes in the second line of a verse
horse whinny and a sneeze
"Jingle Bells" resumes in the second line of a verse
horse whinny and a sneeze
"Jingle Bells" completes its verse

SPOKEN:
Good old Santa Claus and all his reindeer
Huh, they used to bring me lots of toys and candy
Gee, but, but now when I go out and call "Dancer, Prancer, Donnner and Blitzen"
None of 'em can undertand me

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, ee my two front teeth ?
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
So I can wish you Merry Chritmas
Chritmas, Chritmas
Aww, for goodness sakes
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

It was an almost perfect stick too bad they did not include force feedback but then again I read that control sticks in real airplanes don't have any feed back to them.
