I just installed the SCP 3.6.0 onto a fresh install of FS2 "Sim of the Year Edition" v1.2 retail. I'm a first timer with this SCP thing. Looks great, but when playing the normal FS2 campaign, (no mods, or additional campaigns installed), ships do not show on the radar. Is this a limitation of the SCP, or is there something else causing this?

:welcome:
check the launcher for the radar reduce flag and be sure that it is not selected or turned on. Next get a new exe from here (http://dynamic6.gamespy.com/~freespace/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=28626).
Also check the setting on your radar and be sure it is set to infinity

sounds like your radar range is set to something small, this was an origonal FS2 thing BTW not SCP related.
I forget wich button cycles through the ranges.

actualy I saw your post, I was just... compelled... to hit the button...

Actually, it wasn't an original FS2 thing. It was the radar reduce setting causinmg the problem. Now it's working fine.
Do I just unzip that new SCP into the FS2 folder where I installed SCP v3.6.0, or does each files belong in different directories? Is there a 3.6.5 install program?

the EXE and launcher go in the main folder, the VP files go in the main folder. Anything else should come with a readme file, or else.

Or you could follow the install instructions on the SCP site...
