I bout had a SWEET render for GOTP's new Shivan aramada and the new Shivan SuperJuggernaught,..spent a few hours had a full fleet,..at least 3 of each shivan ship, positioning and lighting looked excellent,..went to render and POOF Illegal action please burn in hell.
To make it worse the saved scene is corrupted somehow and reloading crashes TS still (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
I'll prolly wait till tomarrow to redo it since right now I'd rather break something (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

Ouch... (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif) Tell you what, email the scene to me and I will see if my copy of TS will open it. [email protected] (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

I feel you pain. I tried to position some ships for a scene, but everytime I moved a ship slightly off the screen TS crashed. And yesterday I only wanted to paint a turret and poof, Bluescreen Of Death (c, tm, r, all rights reserved)

Damn, sorry to hear about that dude (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
Why can't people make stable 3D modelling programs? especially at the prices people charge for them...

Its great to know that its just not my computer that causes TS to crash. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif) If its any consolation, you've made me feel better.
In addition, I've found that when I have to redo something because of something like that, I do it better the second time. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Hi.
-
Bad news. I checked out the scene, and only three of the ships saved - the SantMara, the Sathanas, and a tiny Rakshasa cruiser. Nothing else. Sorry, buddy. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/frown.gif)
-
NP I re-did it today anyways. Still need to texture OR completely remodel the SantMar thou.
Ahhh well I'll get something done with it (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/tongue.gif)

AAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGG GG!!!!!!!
TS just screwed my contest model. I accidentally moved a single face off its place, and not only did TrueCrap refuse to undo it, it also screws my mouse movements, so I can't put it back manually. How can they really dare to take money for this piece of junk?
Well, luckily the damage is not vital, I think I can fix it by redoing the damaged part.

Maybe people should make backups of their contest entries. (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
-
I've got at least 7 different versions of mine, plus the original .dxf file (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
Backups, good!

I have backups. I was just pissed that truespace does such idiotic things. I tried to move the face back into position, but TS always added an extra component to all my mouse movements. Wherever I moved the mouse, the cursor moved to the right.
BTW, fixing the damage was just a matter of five minutes since it was only a small subobject that was damaged, and there were more of them, so I just needed to delete it and copy another one to it's place. The model is finished, and I sent the renders to Shrike, to upload them.

He's not online, unfortunately. Oh well (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
