Title: Why aren't you working on your campaign?
Post by: Black Wolf on December 18, 2004, 12:01:44 pm
I recently asked myself these questions, and, having ticked off my usual excuses for the past few weeks (Busy with exams, moving, getting back into contact with people etc. etc.) I realized that my generic "RL" excuse was nothing more than an attempt to conceal the fact that I was being a lazy bugger. So I'm FREDding ATM.

So... how many other people out there are also being lazy buggers like me?

*raises hand* :nervous:

*opens FRED*

I do that all the time. I think 'Eh, I'll take a break for a while' but I don't actually do anything in said break.

I try to FRED at least one mission a day or every two days, depending on how much time I have. But I tend to use the excuse: "I'll do it later" (And when 'Later' comes I end up saying I'll do it later again :p )

Do not rush your missions. You need to test it for a couple of additional days. Spend only that amount of time in case of very simple missions.

Well, there's a general laziness factor, times the way the mission gets tedious after you've played it a million times, divided by the way you need to change the storyline cause it sucks now, to the shivanth power.

Plus there's also a need to talk to a certain nuclear weapon at the moment...

I can turn out a single fairly decent mission over the course of about three-fourths of a day; that's how long it took me to make most of the missions in Cleaning Crew. And that's counting testing. I still haven't solved the balance problems, though...

My current problem is that I need to go find 3.5.5 FRED again...the new build I foolishly replaced it with doesn't quite work right.

Also I write fanfiction for various series I'm too embaressed to mention here. And people have made dire threats about me not working on those stories.

Until last week I probably would have raised my hand too. However I did FRED in the lead up to the SCP meeting and this week I really have been too busy (After getting back from work and checking HLP I was far too tired to play on my PC let alone work on it).

Now the weekend is here and I'm just about to start with some playtesting :)

Right now, I got nothing but time and yet I can't open FRED2..
And I'm losing my sleep 'cos I'm not freding my campaign...

Not only have some of us been FREDding missions, some of us are ready for a release of the results and await only the most auspicious time for it.

Why haven't I been working on my mod?

Actually, I have. I've given TVWP 4 new models last month alone, and am currently waiting for feedback on my upgrades to the original capital ships...   But no one is leaving feedback. :hopping: :p

*Raises hand halfway

I do a little modding on my stuff, just because I push myself to do it, and then I do just a tiny piece and say that I am done for right now.

*WARNING: weather channel brainwashes you and makes you lazy.

My CPU spazzed out and reformated my hardrives. I lost 37 missions...oh, and everything else. With my spirits crushed, I've pretty much given up on releasing my campaigns...ever. :sigh:

Oh, and I've been gone for awhile...is it true an0n is an Admin, now? Or is that just a cruel, sadistic ploy to scare the living crud out of me?
