Title: My pitiful texturing attempts...
Post by: TrashMan on December 18, 2004, 03:42:41 pm
Thanks to ImageShack for Free Image Hosting (http://www.imageshack.us)

The Whitehall station:

And the Cavalier Assault Carrier:

The station is proving to be a b**** to texture....
As for the carrier...still looking which windows look better - the
white light rows ones, or the black with orange glowy bits?

Dump the orange.

The carrier..... I'm not sure regular FS textures will work all that well on a ship with large flat sides.

that should be "My attempt with pitiful textures".

Why not just do a Map anyway ? You seem pretty good with them.

Don't think that would work. I make a fighter map by putting some basic panel texture on my fighrter, rendering it from top, bottom left (right if needed), front and rear, and simply tweak it in photoshop by adding some insignia, numbers, coloured lines and crap...

Well, UV then unwrap a template and use that.  It's much, much easier (if more time-intensive) than a custom tilemap, and it looks better.
