Have been playing Metroid Prime 2: Echos but am now stuck. I can't progress 'cos I need the latest tech. and I can't backtrack for the same reason. So I'm gonna haved to start the game again, wasting 10 hours of play, because I explored left insted of right. How totally ****e is that ?
Nintendo games never used to have thiese nasty little flaws.
-
More than likley it's not a flaw just something you can't find.:p
-
It's a metroid game. They're godawfully bad about doing stuff like that. More than likely what your looking for is either freakishly well hidden or hiding in plain sight.
-
It's possible it's a logical error though, he may have done everything right in theory and it's just the implementation is ****ed.
-
Well I need SpiderBall technology to get back up to a raised door (inorder to backtrack) and I need the Sonic Visor to continue. The map hint is directing me to backtrack but I can't. For the record I hated 2-D Metroid games for this same reason but I went all the way through Prime ("1") no probs.
-
Sounds like you need to head to Gamefaqs, for a walkthru.
-
I don't think I can be arsed restarting...The first one was generally better anyway.

Have you been to the room with the big glowy ball and the rings swishing around it? You need to roll up into a ball on the side and go through the little passage until you get to a room with a bomb slot. Bomb the slot, then bomb the other slot and solve the puzzle. Now go hop onto the ring around to the other side and ride the elevator up. Keep going through until you reach the giant room, and go straight across to the temple. Talk to the Luminoth guy there, go back out and go to the door to your right when you get back in the big room. Jump to the right 3 platforms and look back and scan the little light thing to activate a orb cannon. Go through it and get shot to the other side. Jump on the platforms until you reach the door, go through and be prepared to fight the hardest boss in the game(if not the hardest, definately the most annoying) Hope this helps:).
Don't be hating, you are playing one of if not the best games ever. This game is so amazing, its unreal. If you still need help, describe to me what room you are in and what you have done etc.
-
LOL I figured it out. I forgot to talk to that holo dude in the Fortress Temple. The hint on the map screen was sending me in the totally opposite direction ?:wtf:
Hey adwight, do you mean the SpiderBall Boss ? It was a pain in the ass, I have to admit.
-
Yes, that guy pissed me off.
-
Everyone hates Nintendo...
In 2006, this was the only kind of hunting allowed in Britain:

I don't mean to start an Xbox vs. Gamecube argument, but I find Gamecube to be the far superior console. Especially games wise.
-
If you like games that are (in general) aimed at pre-teens, then yes. It's superior.
But if you want a console that you can run linux on, then an XBox is the way to go :p
-
I don't really hate Nintendo ;)
Goldeneye on the N64 was one of my favourite games ever at that time.....

Why in hell would you want or need a console that could run linux? (anyways, doesn't the PS2 - devkit - run linux by default?)
-
I started hating Nintendo after they killed all the good franchises with Wind Waker and Sunshine. Oh God...
The best game on the 64 was Banjo Kazooie anyway, shortly before Rare caught the minigames disease and stopped making real platformers.
-
Super Smash Brothers.. Burnout.. I believe there's more - great games and not aimed at pre-teens.
Also out on the Gamecube.
Not that I care of course - I have a PS2.
-
Burnout's on the GC?
-
Yep.
Then there's Eternal Darkness, the remake of Resident Evil and the prequel, RE0. I somewhat doubt that those are 'kids games' by any stretch of the imagination.
Just because a game had pretty environments and bold colours, it does not mean that it's 'kiddy.' Nintendo have this ability to make things called 'videogames' rather than gore-fests that the dreaded 'casual gamer' likes.....
Imagine if FreeSpace had been cel-shaded graphical prettyness, whilst remaining the same game underneath. Would you have bought it?
-
I never understood why 'adult game' = full of blood and violence, myself.
-
Nor I.
Take Tales of Symphonia - that's all cutey with lots of pretty characters and colours. Yet it's rather dark in places, and has quite a lot of adult-oriented stuff, such as referring to the heroine - Colette - as an 'ironing board.' :D

That is a perfect example, so is Baten Kaitos. It may seem really childish with all the bright colors and stuff, but it is definately not made for some likee 8 year old. And how dare Ransom say Wind Waker ruined Zelda, it was truly an amazing game.
-
To tell you the truth, I prefer A Link to the Past to the the 3D incarnations of Zelda....

It had some decent ideas, but they were poorly executed, and it was far, far too easy. The whole thing with the islands was annoying for starters, because to get anywhere you need to travel over an unnecessary amount of open water with nothing to even make it visually interesting. I just didn't have anywhere near as much fun playing that as Link to the Past or the 64 games.
-
I have hope. I've been looking at screenshots of the new Zelda game in development...

Cause if it doesn't feature sex, violence or bad language it's mearly a game for adults rather than an adult game. :)

I agree in every sense of the word. In zelda, there is no contender to a link to the past.
Also with Super Mario RPG, unbelievably great in so many ways, just the creativity, originality and play in that game was so well done. Then comes paper mario.....

Haha, Super Mario RPG. Never did figure out how to get the super jump to go more than 10 jumps at a time (how anyone is supposed to get to 100 is beyond me) but that game was great. So funny.

Rare have produced little of note in the past couple of years.
Metroid Prime 2 is good, the first is better though.
-
What part are you stuck on now?
-
I'm a bleedin' basket case right now. Don't know what's up with me.
Anyway. In Sanctuary Main Gyro Chamber. Both Walkways have been deactivated. I've got to get up to the room with the super-bomb door (and eventuall up into the Aerie)
Presumeably I need to break through the glass where the crack is (If I spider ball to it via the inner ring the screen adjusts). No way can I figure how to get through that damn window.
-
Boost through the window.
-
*bump*
You still stuck?
