Hi Guys,
I `d like to have a timeline to play FS1&2 chronologically.
Searching the forum I only found Angelfires Storyline Discussion (http://www.angelfire.com/games2/fsarchive/project/data/00001.html) including the canon missions.
Did anyone do a lists of campaigns/missions before?
If not: I like to start one. Please post campaigns and missions and their date.
I could probably add this later to the FS-Doc Wiki if it seems appropriate.
Thanx

Are you trying to include all MODs, campaigns, missions and stuff? Most of the big projects are kinda "notready".
Thanx

Anything playable with FSO. The goal is to play from Unification or before (2300) to Post-Capella (2400+) with ONE pilot. Therefore only missions and campaigns as a whole. I`m not interested in listing ships, weapons, technology or other stuff. Others already did that.
It`s more like doing a playable history book or a patchwork mega campaign.
-
Welcome to the HLP futuresock :)
-
The campaigns are not in unison. We do not follow each other's timeline. A very few campaigns follow other user-made campaigns. For example, ITHOV would have followed Derelict. There are a lot of interwentions.
-
Is it already possible to use the same pilot for multple MODs? I always create a new one for every single campaign, mod or conversion.
-
Use any reasonably new build after 3.6 and you should have no problem.

Damn, a pang of conscience here. I forgot what the wise man did above.
Welcome to HLP, newcomer. We, the proud and little FreeSpace community, are glad that there are still people interested in this game. If you do not happen to be particularly interested in this game, you should stop reading the text in italic.
It is a general tradition at HLP that we zap the newest member using a weapon like this:
:welcome:
That said we modified the original GTVA beam cannon which is hazardless for friendly fire. The beam we fired at you was successfully absorbed by your Newbie Protection Shield technology(developed in January, 2002). Use the power you absorbed to contribute to the work of the community. To find you way how to assist the HLP people, go to FRED Academy (http://www.hard-light.net/forums/index.php/topic,28122.0.html) and make a foray.
Enjoy your stay and keep your Newbie Protection System active all the time until you are officially promoted to Senior Member. Avoid asking about FreeSpace 3. Do a search and you will know why.
Thank you for reading all this piece of writing, let me wish you good luck and a happy stay!

@TopAce:
I know that their are a lot of inconsistencies in between the Mods.
(As well as I realize how much excellent work was done in the last year I`ve been lurking.)
But the idea to play a LONG campaign itched me for a while now. I`m willing to live with branches and alternate realities; even at one point in the future considering to do this for B5 and Stithes "Universes Project".
What gave me the idea that it might work is the talk in BWO about Derelict& BWO having connections... and the fact how many attempts have been started to have something vaguely resembling a consistent timeline...
To simplify things:
Which campaigns (even unfinished) might qualify? I would keep missions (except Ross) out at the moment.

ZANG!!!!
Exits are to your left, right, front, behind, up and down....actually everywhere. Only you won't be able to use them as you are one of us now. There is a flamethrower under your seat, but it's filled with water (we ran out of napalm). Plasma Rifles are in maximum security lockers acessable only by admins.
If you see a Shivan in the air ducts, it's probably only Carl. Give him you lunch, or pocket money, or your soul and you should be fine (I hope).
Do not mention FS3 or satan (Derek Smart) or you might suffer a fate worse than death...
Enjoy your stay...

I think Derelict and Warzone were at least loosely connected, weren't they?
-
Yup, and BWO should be able to fit in after em both.
-
Try this, futureshock: http://www.3dactionplanet.com/hlp/hosted/fsurp/
And welcome to HLP. :)

Doesn`t help Setekh. I looked into it before. It gives a historical account but not an campaign one.
So far a campaign timeline looks like :
Terran Vasudan War Campaign
Ross128 Mission
Freespace 1 Campaign
Freespace 2 Campaign
...
-
-
Terran Vasudan War Campaign
Ross128 Mission
Freespace 1 Campaign
All Hands to War
Freespace 2 Campaign
Branch--> Into the Depths of Hell
-
Terran Vasudan War Campaign
Ross128 Mission
Freespace 1 Campaign
All Hands to War
Freespace 2 Campaign - BRANCH--> The Aeos Affair
Into the Depths of Hell
Where would Boomerang fit in?
-
Boomerang is set during FS2, isn't it?
-
There's Silent Threat, too. And soon, Silent Threat: Reborn... ;7
Many of the projects that fill gaps in the timeline haven't been released yet.
-
Thanx for the warm welcome btw
-
Terran Vasudan War
Ross 128 Missions
Freespace 1
Sol: A History (Missions go from Last FS1 Mission to Inferno)
Silent Threat
Pandora's Box
Freespace 2
Derelict
Revenge - Final Conflict
Inferno
This are the Campaigns i'm remember..
-
Shrouding the Light can go between Silent Threat and Pandora's Box. And Homesick can go between Pandora's Box (I think) and FS2.
-
How about Warzone, does it go between Derelict and FS2?

Very very loosely connected, something about Lucifer in Derelict and shivans in Warzone.:drevil:

I guess there are more than two years between Derelict and FS2, so I think my campaign Renegade Ressurgence could go between them. The Journey to Epsilon Pegasi is a concurrent campaign with FS2, it starts a few days before the Colossus is blown up and ends roughly a week after Capella is sealed.

Cas of War slots 5 years after FS2 (albiet it doesn't actually do anything to advance the storyline and was really a bit of a filler to flesh out some background stuff I'd already set down for Reci).

Renegade Ressurgence is between 2368-69.
Be precise. :p

Desperation occurs during the FS2 main campaign, but more towards the ending. During FS2 to post-capella (if I can ever get Chapter 2 complete)

Does DEM really count. If it did then there would have been 5 Lucifers flying round GTVA space and the Colossus would have been destroyed while trying to attack the GTD nYllPhuasdenjgb(I might have misspelt it slightly). Which directly conflicts with the plot of FS2!
-
Of course it counts. It's all those dang Plot Holes that mess everything up. :p
-
You mean the ones in the cargo containers? Or the Intergalactic travelling plothole?
-
All of them.

Nice
-
Machina Terra--2374
Origins -- starts in oct 2374
-
I don't think we're counting unfinished campaigns, natch.
-
TVWP snuck in there somehow, though...
Boomerang takes place during FS2, doesn't it? If so, it ought to be 2367.
-
TVWP is pure hope and greed ;)
-
My newest campaign will be played in 1548. Title undecided. :D
-
Just Another Day takes place some time after Deus Ex Machina, due to the references to DEM.
-
Are you sure DEM and JAD should be listed? I am not sure.
-
Well, DEM does have a fixed, known start date. JAD doesn't.
-
It's a valid point, but neither of them are believable to really happen.
-
You can explain DEM away by the roaming plothole, and you can explain JAD by the fact that the adventure mostly took place through a knossos.
-
Believablity wasn't a requirement for ending up on the timeline. It just had to be a campaign.
-
Hey, JAD has a perfectly reasonable explaination, I have an half-done mission explaining everything. ;) Anyway, JAD would take place in whenever the GTVA has their presidential elections, so why not say 2368.

Extra Campaign
Millenium, set in 2999! With Orions, Hecates and Leviathans and one colossus
