It looks very ingame to me.
Browse through the "screenshots" thread and you'll see other shots of B5.

It must be a render. Lighting is strange.

It's a render, since the starfield in the background is much better than FS ones.

Or has the crappy starfield finally been updated?

Ingame; starfield could simply be a skybox, and the planet looks lower res than I'd expect of a rended (also no bump mapping)

Will Mr. Fury tell which one it is? :)

Looks like SCP type lighting, but I thought the B5 model wasn't in game yet?

Maybe it is now...the model isn't render-quality, in any case...

Hmm, is this a trick question?  Maybe it's both... a render being used as the main hall. :drevil:

Hehe, the four who voted it to be a render....

Were wrong. :)

Also, I believe today you will receive your christmas gift from TBP team. It is not R3 quite yet, but something worth looking forward to. :)

Don't jump into hasty conclusions.

"Just miss" in this context means between a week and a year :p

Damn, I said it was a render.
This confirms, it is lucrative that I am not playing the lottery. :o

It is most obviously a screenshot. not even a very impressive looking one. i don't see how anyone could think it was a render, unless it was a really crappy one.

See, but the very fact that you posted this thread gave it away.  "Sorry guys, we're not that good, it is in fact only a render."  Nah - you'd either promote your in-game graphics or keep quiet about them. :p

There are actually two things in the picture that lacks proper quality.

The first one is the planet. There is only an old single poor quality texture available for Epsilon 3. Thus it is very difficult to make a decent one from scratch that resembles the one seen in the show enough. We've had quite a trouble to get a decent replacement.

The second thing is that the B5 model lacks shinemapping and glowpoints.

Those two points aside, the screenshot is very impressive.

The lack of shinemapping and the ambient light in the shots really keep B5 from looking as good as it could.

Also the planet needs a better mask on it (to avoid the black line edgies) and needs to be a lot higher resolution ;)

I can't say I like the texture on that model, it's too bright, but that could just be the lighting.

Like I said, Epsilon 3 is a problem since it needs to be redone from scratch, it ends up not being recognized as Epsilon 3 anymore. There is no high-quality source material available.

It will be done through trial and error. But will it be in 3.0? Who knows... Until then, only low-res R2 version will be available. :(

This isn't render at all look on that lighting... it's the FS2... i hate that smooth lighting in FS2 ;)... just look on it more properly we have the epsilon 3 lighted on left and from same side B5... but it seems like the light goes from Epsilon 3 ;)

but still you do a great work but this screen isn't the good one ;(
