Looks awesome, but it's not supposed to be a FS-universe ship, right? Cause it looks nothing like other FS ships :)

Incredible model though.

Why not? I mean, the FS universe has the most odd looking ships. What does a Colossus have to do with, for example, a Deimos? They are of completelly diferent morphologies. And yet they belong to the same fleet...
If you mean that it doesn´t belong in FS because FS ships are horridly under-detailed, then i can´t argue with that.
:p

@c914

That´s about right. Too many polys for FS at the moment. Albeit i have a lower poly version, where i did away with most of the greebling, this version is already reaching 12000 polys and it´s not even close to be ready...

*listens to his graphics card screaming in horror*

The design styles of FS ships have certain commonalities. Among them is they don't have things like those handle-esque extensions.

Awesome detail level.....except for  the nose, which  looks a bit plain.

One ship out of...how many? Also those ARE the Hippocrates' hull, not extensions off of it.

Ship looks cool, but it's battle effectivnes must be uber poor. look at the turret placements for god's sake!

FS terran capships tend to have blocky engines. The engines on this one look ridiculously small.

I think it's intended that way. Judging by the fact that Swamp_thing is a member of TVWP I assume that that model has something to do with it and therefore the style of the ship along with the engine fits for a pre-FS1 timeline with this rocket style engines.

An I wouldn't say that the engines on this model are absurdly small but  rather say that the engines of most FS capships are absurdly large.:p

Good point. :p I guess I'm so used to that look that I don't even notice it any more.

Edit : but it would work as a pre-FS1 vessel, that's true.

Well, i wish more people would think so, but alas it´s not so. It does make sense that engines in a pre-FS1 era would be mostly rocket propelled, and thus it would make sense to make the engine cones just like those on real space ships, i.e. the NASA shuttles. But that´s just me.

As for size, anyone who thinks those are small needs a reality check, real bad!! :p
It has 4+1 engines (the center thingy is an engine too), more than enough to power the thing.
And no, this is not for TVWP. At least i don´t think so...

@TrashMan

LOL :ha: :ha: :ha:  Just how do you judge the battle effectiveness of a WIP? It´s not even turreted! :lol: :lol:

Because there are, quite clearly, turrets and guns on the model. Pay close attention when looking at it.

Uh, no! There are 2 turrets on each side, period. Those are only there as placeholders though. And it´s missing like the entire underbelly turreting, aswell as the aft section, so...
And i don´t need to pay "close attention" to it, i made it.

Well, since its a large ship, designed for html im guessing, it can go up yo 20k polys and be ok.

Well, you gave it to us in this stage of completion and asked for comments, and in this stage of completion to doesn't look it's going to do real well in combat.
