Title: Derelict re-pack here
Post by: MatthewPapa on December 22, 2004, 03:01:01 pm
For those of you wanting to play Derelict with all of the voices that were recorded, here is a link for a single VP install (this might also be useful for HOTU users since the Derelict installer sometimes wont work for them).

RAR 10.7 mb at http://freespaceserver.cjb.net/derelict_full.rar

Speeds are a little slow right now but it should get better in a few hours.

By the way we should get a couple of people together to voice every mission (ore most) of Derelict. Post here if you would be willing to participate in such a project.

I would.

I'd also be willing to crawl through the FREDding to fix any errors, if that's okay.

I played the campaign recently and didn't notice any errors whatsoever.  I think the only people who experience errors are pilots who aren't skilled enough to play the campaign at the difficulty level it was designed.

I know because the very first FS2 campaign I played (after finishing the main campaign) was Derelict.  I ran into so many bugs that I had to re-FRED a bunch of missions to allow me to pass them.  Only two months ago I played Derelict again and was surprised to find no bugs at all.  The only thing that changed in the interval was my piloting skill.

The weapons-selection, ship-selection, and perhaps you missed the broken fire-beam sexp in the second-to-last mission? I've played that repeatedly, and the Cypher doesn't fire.

Which is in and of itself a bug :) When designing missions you have to make them work for all skill levels. You should never assume "Well it's 3 minutes in so the player must have destroyed that cruiser by now"
