Hop, here is a pic of the new veritech I worked on.

edit: Damn, I forgot to render the stars... oh, well, I'll do the pic again later, maybe...

Hmm, I hadn't noticed that my title was changed. Cool, anyway...  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Yah, that IS cool. Lighting on the Veritechs is good- although a hint of blue in the shadows of the rear jets would add a lot, and those lens-flare engine glows just don't look quite right...still, very cool.   (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif)

Yep.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/biggrin.gif) It's my duty to try to give as much input as possible.

I have to agree here, but still, it's a very good pic. The landscape is excellent, and the lighting fantastic. Shows off the shapes of the Veritech very well. Excellent job.  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Do you realize those are our new transforming Veritechs for Freespace 2?  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)

Yes, I made the landscape in 3d. Making landscapes under 3dsmmax is very easy, just use the displace tool and a black and white pic of the landscape you want to do on a patch grid, then map the colour pic on the result, and hop! you have a landscape in less than 2 minuts  (http://dynamic.gamespy.com/~freespace/ubb/noncgi/smile.gif)
