Here ya go guys, sorry to post another thread when I already have one going, but here's a new ship.
It was inspired simultaniously by the old racing planes and a toothbrush :D

Cool design! Looks like something from a "Crimson Skies" type game. I like it a lot.:yes:
-
nose++
-
Badddd. Very bad.
Why? Have you ever tried deck-landing with something where you can't see past the nose?
-
Since when does that matter? :p It's a game. Besides, you could just have a nose camera. And you wouldn't necessarily be landing on a deck, would you?
It looks cool. That's all that matters.
-
Thanks Pyro :D
Update:

lol...
-
you should call it the Cerino D' Bursurac class.
-
Reminds me vaguley of an early '80s Corvette.
-
I like it..... Looks like it would be a fast intercepter... :)
-
Thanks for the compliments all :D
Would someone be willing to texture this baby? I can't texture for the life of me! :)
-
I like it - very slick and minimalistic. Super fast but lightly armored/armed short range interceptor comes to my mind :)
-
Hehehe, it's a penis fighter.
-
Now tell me how that looks like a penis :wtf:
-
Pff. Apparently on these forums everything looks like a penis, even if it doesn't. :doubt:
-
penis figher penis destroyer what next...:wtf:
BTW: nice model:yes:
-
I think it's the phallic imagery that long nosed fighters lend themselves to that causes the problem.

I'm thinking if you dream about penis :D

:wtf: :wtf:
Anyway, I personally don't like it because of the big woody / nose on the end. It looks more like it's meant to be big and less like it serves a purpose.
-
Put some weaponry on the bulge, maybe the gunports.

Ask Luke Skywalker... Oh, wait, we aren't supposed to say bad things about the hoooooly original trilogy, right? riiiiight :p
I think I like it, but a screenshot with a normal FoV would be better, don't you think? It's obvious ( well to me, the others seem to have **** in their eyes :doubt: ) it's completly distorted...

Most of the original images look like the camera has gone all fish eye. I remember TS used to do that when zooming in 'n' out. It may be adding emphasis to the nose.

X-wings don't need arrestor gear. They just kinda drift in. Not many sci-fi games do it that way; only the Star Wars ones and Starlancer come to mind.
But I like the design, I do...something's tugging at my memory about the rear view, though.
-
Cool.
At first, that picture on the top left looked like something at the end of an arm...then I realized it was just the angle.
-
Here's a side angle, so people can get the proportions better.

Wouldn't stick too many weapons on it, maybe leave it as a civilian racer/hotrod (2370 model corvette :D...)

Doesn't change the fact that you can't see where you land at all :p
-
Sure it does. You can have ground crew direct you.
No, visiblity is only a problem for for high-speed landings.
-
Or you don't land at all. You dock. You fly into the hangar, and stop beside the docking gantry. Said gantry extends and latches onto your fighter. Or a crane grabs you and sets you down in a landing bay. Or a tractor beam does the same.
-
Would be cool if you put a gatlin gun like thingey, like the ones on the fighters in Homeworld. Even if you leave the nose the same it still would be a nice fighter.
-
Thanks Weather :)
And to everyone else: You land vertically on a movable pad. The pad (or your skids/wheels) are magnetic, and pulls you inside the docking area. Then you get out. Happy? :p
-
Sure. That works. And that'd be drifting in, since it can't stop you at high speeds.
