Since my parents got me an intuos3 for christmas, I've spent the entire day playing with it... (On a texture for TVWP)
WHen I got sick of that texture, I went on to try coloring... and this is the result.

Not bad for my first day with this wonderful gem, eh?
-
Afraid to comment? :(
Meh... I know it's not anything near PeachE or Turnsky's level (since they could get away with drawing fur and people wouldn't hex it) but I would really like feedback...
Please?
-
err....looks colorfully!
What? what else were you expecting :nervous:
Overall, i'd say good work with the coloring. Not enough shading IMO, but then it looks like its supposed be a 'bright' scene with light sources from all around and minimal shadows of that sort.
-
Hows this for a better shaded version? It looks like there's alot more muscle definistion now...

looks like you got the shading right on that one.
But still...the position of that arm bugs me. Did he dislocate his shoulder or something? Just looks wierd O_O (as if it wasn't wierd enough as it is)
-
If I drew a short wall behind him, and made it looks like he was lifting himself up ont it, would that help? :p
-
nope. Still wouldn't explain how such a creature is capable of standing with a sharp claw for a heel :P
-
You don't stand on the heel. You stand on the forward digits. :p
-
errr.......ook then.
Ill stop spamming on your post then :P
-
's not spam if it's clearing up misconceptions ;)

Oh, you mean a tablet?! I have a Wacom too. Small one, came with a pen and a wireless mouse. Never used it... It´s still waiting for me to gather some inspiration to do anything with it.
-
Wacom is a brand name of Tablets.
Mine is a 4x5, and it's awesome.

Raa, in Photoshop, Layers are your friend, try fiddling with a layer set to either multiply or overlay, don't tweak the opacity of the brush.. just the layer, your get more consitency of your shading that way.
-
I have used layers... THat pic I posted was about 6 layers... It was my first day with it. I think I did damned good ;)
And your pad is too big :p
-
Shift shading towards blue a bit mabye
Give more shading detail on head
-
Well, your supposed to use opposite colours for shading organic things... or so all my art teachers say.. so the green has red, and the orange has blue.
I may give it another go later on, I s'pose...
-
Show off!!!
My pad is like 1/3 the size of that one there. I saw that one in the shop when i got mine, the price diference was minimal, but i thought it was too big so i chose the smaller one.
The thing is, when i use the damn thing, the pen writing is too jerky, not much control... Maybe i need to get acostumed to it.

if you really want to get into it, i've used well over 100 layers.
-
it gets confuseing past 25 ;)
-
i always end up killing stuff after 5th layer...
-
That's nice work!
Wacoms are indeed cool - less clicky-finger-mouse-cramp for one thing...;)
-
i always end up crashing my computer becasue i have too many layers.
