Title: SCP just went crazy...
Post by: Hippo on December 26, 2004, 08:46:51 pm
I don't know... Suddenly stuff started going wrong... There's this weird thing with background light vertexes being connected and making triangles (see picture), ships are randomly disappearing, effects are square, but not white... They're a color similar to what they should be, but all staticey and pixelated. And most confusing, is that polygons which should be reflecting are showing strange instances of the Cbani with the poseidon that dock near earth...

Its OGL, 3.2GHz, 1 gig DDR, 7Megs VR, P4ht, 3.6.5, command line:

[q]C:\TheSCP\fs2_open_3_6_5.exe -spec -glow -pcx32 -jpgtga -d3dmipmap -2d_poof -cell -d3d_no_vsync -dualscanlines -ship_choice_3d -targetinfo -orbradar -ballistic_gauge -snd_preload -dnoshowvid -env -decals -fps -window -stats -show_mem_usage  -ALLSLEV -FOV 0.39 -mod FS1[/q]

No other problems, other than env doesn't show up on OGL for some resason (but as i found out today, specular (usually) does)...

It all happened after i started FSO again, but it wasn't the first time i had, just, this time it went crazy...

eeeps! Now that IS a problem.

So far I've only tried in D3D on this PC. even then its pretty....hectic, to say the least. It crashes on me at random at hi-res, even though I didn't particularly do anything wrong!

Now im just scared to go use OGL :nervous:

Sad thing, is that it was running PERFECTLY under OGL previously, and I didn't make any changes to make it do this... I haven't tested it yet today though... I will now...

Hm... Its been running perfectly (munis the env) all day... How could such a random thing happen then?

Seems like it... It hasn't happened since yesterday, though when it did, even when i restarted, and tried again... And i didn't change anything to break it, OR fix it...

Only problem that remins, is occasionally my video drivers just freeze, and i have to cold boot, but thats only after a few hours...
