OK with all this talk about campaigns, I am going to go ahead and broadcast Mercs.  The Idea is new.  You literally choose which missions you want to take, and you get paid for them.  All day long i have been working on the magic that would make this happen.  Here's how it works...you get the choice of 3 or 4 contracts, and obviously, you pick one, it may be 1 mission, it may be as many as 5.  When you get done, you get paid and can buy better ships, better weapons.  Then you pick another contract.

I am still debating as to whether i want to make it modded or not, but if i do, i plan to only use mods that are already avaliable, so that kills the need for modellers and texturers, pof guys, etc etc etc.

so why am i telling you this?  i need help.  easy help, help that doesn't require much work, just PM your ideas for a 3-5 mission mini campaign.  That's it.  

Why now?  Because i can only do 6 more missions in Origins before i have to grind to a halt while waiting for the release of MT.  Which by the way...is coming along really well again.

So please...PM me with your stories, if at all possible, have them in a mission doc format so that my job will be easier.

I think some groundwork is in order......i'd like to set this to start from 2364 to 2367.   It would then culminate with the Second Shivan Incursion, and go back as far as three years prior.  I am thinking that anything up to the Capellan Supernova would be fair game.

Or you could make up a better ending for Silent Threat, pending the release of ST:Reborn (or has it already been released?). Make up a sub-plot about the Hades, then create some missions that lead the GTA and PVN to hunt it down and destroy it.

Just a suggestion. ;)

If you want any help getting it done, I could take a temporary break from my own pet campaign and give it a work. It'll feel satisfying to get a project finished, not just left for dead.

I've been working on a loosley similar idea where the player would choose between bomber/intercept/assualt squadrons and the campaign would alter as required. Hope you get it working. :yes:

I've got an idea on that one, where you choose what role to play.  Basically, you use a SEXP to check the type of a ship in a wing (not the player, who may use a different ship) and set a variable based on the ship type.  Depending on the value of that variable, it gives the wing different AI instructions and messages.
